Emailed a couple of days ago to give notice. Can't justify the money on a monthly basis for mostly sport and a little bit of Comedy Central now and then. Will see what they come back with but it's not great value for $77 a month when that would buy me literally every streaming service I could ever need, including Sky Sport Now.

robbon44: I just canned my sky sub for good.

Have been with them for over 10 years and had a few extension deals from them but I just don’t think they treat loyal customers well.

The last deal they offered me was that I could continue to rent their equipment for $19.99 per month after they switch off the sky feed.

I don’t think they get it..

Just bought a Vodafone tv box and got a voucher for neon for 3 months. Might give it a go. Have to say I’m quite impressed with the quality of image on the key channels on the VTV box.

Did exactly the same as you a few weeks ago - for the same reasons - after being a continuous Sky customer for 20+ years. They also offered us the stupid equipment rental thing. Whaaaat? - you must be joking! Crazy.

Have also bought VTV and on the whole it’s OK but some niggly intermittent issues that need sorting by way of upgrades/patches. Some VTV owners are having much more serious problems.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

The only niggle I had with vtv was it wouldn’t connect to wifi out of the box. No biggy as I could hard wire it to my network.

Found out how to switch off the sky channels and can operate the menu via my Bose remote. Picture quality is pretty good even Prime. We have occasional picture pauses but channel up channel down and you are fine.

We don’t record much now as on demand covers the majority.

I do miss discovery channels.

I am on a VDSL connection with spark on semi rural location in Central Otago using sparks router. I do wonder if I switched to a new router if this would improve my home network wifi speeds ?? Streaming in 4k seems fine however !

Got offered 25% off to commit for 12 months, so I did. It's infinitely more usable now with Sky Go having the casting ability and I would be paying $40 for Sky Sport Now, so the starter package works out at better value considering it includes the big box.

What address did you email to?  Have you got a Mysky decoder in place?
I guess it's a matter of calling their bluff and see if they respond? As you say, they don't know how to treat long term customers.

cheers

Just used the contact form on the site and sent it as a billing inquiry. Already have the decoder in place. They said they'd call at some point but it's taken them a while to get in touch.

Hmmmm. That won't work for me as my account number is through Vodafone and I would have to actually cancel with them first before Sky would talk to me.

Thanks anyway.

Hey team,

Any of the old offers still floating around that anyone has had any luck with recently or any new contacts?

Hi, was that for 12 month contract? I'm looking to go back to sky after my current VFTV service ends as I had free sport for 12 months.

Sounds like you could've downgraded to Sky Starter for $25.99
