PANiCnz:

Try texting Krish, his contact details are back on page 70. He set me up back in May last year. I can't see any posts that indicate he's no longer doing deals.

Krish isn't with Sky any longer and the deals are no longer being done. Was advised to call Sky for the best deal available, but that is what I already did.

Called the 0800 number and was told they aren't doing any more half-price specials, which ended last year. The best they could do was $72 a month for Basic, My Sky and Sport with 2 Months free.

Darn I should have called. Anyway I just signed up to the deal on the website including broadband.

Tried to ring their 0800 number and theres a 35 minute wait. Tried their Chat....got no one for 5-10 minutes so gave up. Was looking at cancelling my subscription as all i do is watch sports and nothing else on there and not worth the $79 i currently pay. Just heard a 4K box is on the way for them...maybe ill hang around a little bit longer. I have had my Mysky box since around 2010ish.

As you'll see on the last 10 or so pages if you value PQ you'll not enjoy SSN even if it is cheaper.

I don't get all the bagging about PQ on SSN. It's all I've had for ages, running through NVIDIA Shield and I've hardly had any issues of PQ or otherwise.

Than again I'm watching on a close to 20 year old Panasonic 720p plasma...

The frame rate is the issue. At 25fps sport is unwatchable. As soon a camera pans across a football field i looks like strobe light is going off. I honestly don't know how you can watch it. It used to make me feel nauseous.

As has been said on here so many times if SSN was as good as Sky Go it would be perfect. Sadly that's not the case

I've just renewed, but no where near as good a deal as previously.  Not a big user of the mysky features, so went with Sky Starter and Sky Sport at $52/month for 12 months.

@demeter23 how did you get $52? With My Sky it was $73 a month!

What number did you call?

That's my subscription with them.  Valid for 12 months, which I got through their retentions department.

Was that when you were transferred to someone?
Or someone called you back?

I was called back by the retention team and got 2 different good offers like the one you got.
My brother was transferred to a retention dept and got a shit offer.

I'd also like to know, as we had the same experience.

I was transferred to their retentions team, not sure if its a different one to those who call you back etc.  It was bordering too high for me, but with the EPL going to them and the NRL starting up, I thought it was worth the extra $10 over SSN.  Much prefer a satellite picture over SSN streaming option.

When I rang them they gave me a 25% discount for a year contract.

I had to wait for a call back, that took about 2 and a half months, but had the Sky Box free, recording and two Sky Channels that changed each month.

Have about 2 months left, but last month they rang me and gave me Sky Movies and SoHo for just under $10 a month for 3 months which takes me to end of contract.

When I rang first time I just said wanted to cancel Sky, they asked if wanted to cancel now  or have it for free until someone called back, expecting it to be in 3 months so waited.

Will see what happens when contract up.
