Has anyone given up on the new Sky box? Cuz I'm this close 🤏 to returning it and I don't mind giving up my credit I received for trial and being on the commercial.

Having read a few of the 77 pages of comments, I would say so! Why stick with what is clearly a not fit for release product. Sky should be allowing everyone with the new box to keep the old one for say six months until it is fixed (or scapped). I decided against the "upgrade" based on the comments - and the miserly $50 savings for 18 years of loyalty.. Will stick to the current box for a while! A pity because the the promise of the new box was good.

There are lots of annoying things with the new Sky box but one tends to get used to those annoying things and work around them or work with them.

Not sure I can go back to the old Sky box after using the new one for a few weeks now.

There are some good things - and lots of bad things. Bad things trump good with the new box but the effort to go back - not sure it’s worth that pain!

Wife complained lots for the first few days - now she’s just used to it. I hope that Sky keeps in proving the UX. Seeing the updates is encouraging that things will get better soon!

Would have been the best box out since sliced bread and prior to the release of the first Smart TV!!

Not sure I would be so patient as you or your wife! You are the paying customer, not Sky's testers.

Would be good to hear the good things over the old sky box. And not talking about the things that any decent smart TV or media player can do (although do appreciate it being in one box).

I will check back here in a few months to see if there are still compaints.

Yea was the one I applied last night - cannot see any differences. It is for the Sky app so must be bug fixes at the UX level.

Just done a live pause for a few minutes, how do I cancel it?

Normally you unpause it by fast forwarding to now during the ads.

It wasn't there at 6pm, maybe they are staggering it to certain users

I rebooted twice (as part of testing something else) and on start-up it showed.

Yes, I think that was it for me also. My update appeared after I rebooted it (twice also coincidentally) trying unsuccessfully to fix Wednesday’s subscription issue. But a planned and organised staggered push sounds feasible, almost. Maybe that’s what they were actually trying to do on Wednesday.

Anyone figured out how to setup a Samsung TV remote (latest version) - all of the latest ones pretty much work the same way - to work with the new Sky box?

I use to have our Samsung TV remotes setup to work with the Sky boxes - can easily change channels with channel up/down etc.
Cannot find an Android TV or similar profile on the Samsung side for the new boxes.

On the flip side - I had to change my Sky remote settings and it now controls TV volume etc.
