Out of interest does anyone else have 1 or 2 Vodafone remotes working ok with their Sky device without any issues?

I have one that I have used with my Sky Pod to test it, and I have used the Button Mapper App to customise it so it works better and so that Apps are assigned to the coloured buttons. I am currently using it with Google TV and the Sparkle TV App.

I have unpaired my Bluetooth remote and now I can no pair it again, I get no prompts on the screen to pair it but I know to pair it you need to press and hold CH+ and OK buttons on remote for 3 seconds to begin pairing process but nothing happens, so after a couple of hours trying to navigate the remote using standard RF as it was going back when I tried going forward and changes to the screen were flicking through different pages like there was a gremlin in the remote I finally get to the factory reset page and decided to do that to fix it now I am stuck on the Pair Your Sky Remote page and nothing is happenning, I have another Sky remote that I have tried and still the same thing

Can anyone unpair and pair remote without any issues?

Any idea's

Maybe full factory reset of the box ?

Is there a reset button or something on the outside of the box? that's the only way I'm going to reset the box!

I would not factory reset it until you try to use Google TV App from a phone to control it to go to Home, then the Head Icon for My Hub, Select, then navigate to the Android Settings, Select, then navigate to Remotes and Accessories. Select, and add Accessory to start Pairing from there, and then push the paring buttons on the remote.

But I guess that is no consolation if you have already done a factory reset, and followed the prompts on the screen.

I mentioned last night that I had paired the Google TV app with the box but nothing happens.

Good news, I have managed to fix the problem, while holding the front button on the Sky Box and plugging in the power cable for 10 seconds fixed it.

So now I have paired my Sky remote and 2 Vodafone remotes all working fine in the different rooms.

BUT after restarting the Sky Box, one of the Vodafone remotes drops of the list of paired devices and when I try to use it it asking to pair it again. I don't know why that is

I suspect the Box limits you to one remote of each model, but I don't know why. It does however appear that the rename of the remote does not stick between reboots and hence it attempts to connect two remotes with the same name and can't do so.

I've re paired the two Vodafone remotes and kept the same names and restarted the box going into Remotes and accessories using the Sky remote I see the 2 Vodafone remotes listed but not connected, so I press a key on one Vodafone remote and it shows as connected straight away and the same with the other.

I restarted again to try it and the same thing happens, so it looks like i'm pretty much sorted untill everything turns to shitee again

Aleast Vodafone was good for something lol

No, but would be interested to hear what you had to say. My main gripe is the slow changing of channels.

OK - The major problem we are having. Most of the recordings are ending up partially recorded. What the?

Anyone else seeing this?

Cannot work this out but it could be due to the stupidity of series link.
Wife records MasterChef Australia and Lego Masters. Now the box is advertised as being able to record 5 programs at once. These are series linked so -
1. It’s recording MasterChef Australia and Lego Master at the same time so that’s 2.
2 It’s then recording the +1 channel version of these (issue with series link currently) so that’s another 2.
3. Must use one for instant rewind so that’s 1.
So overall that’s 5.

But something weird is happening and we’re ending up with partially recorded shows.
How is this box fit for purpose? Doesn’t even do what it advertises it does.

We’re not doing anything crazy - simply recording two shows on at the same time.
Utterly pointless ringing the helpdesk.

Sorry Sky - this is seriously annoying. Please make an effort to listen to feedback from customers and fix these issues.

Can someone with the new box see if they can series link or even record the ITM Hook Me Up fishing show that airs on Sundays on Three.  I cannot get this to record.  It allows me to select record and brings up the Episode or Series menu. I can select either but it never shows up in the planner.  I think it once showed up and then literally vanished in front of my eyes.

I also noticed that the ability to bookmark has gone. I can no longer bore my family with “you must watch this” moments.

That wasn't a good start to using the Vodafone remotes

This morning in my bedroom I turned on the TV with the TV remote and it said no signal, well that's because the stupid box has gone into standby, none of the Vodafone remotes would wake it up, so I had to go to the lounge to get the Sky remote and took it back to the bedroom and used that to wake up the box and so it did.

Going into Remotes and accessories the Vodafone remotes are missing, I'm giving up on this piece of junk!!

A curious string of events.

Received my new box and took out old MySky box and installed new box with a littl,e but time consuming, help over phone. Parcelled up the old box with cables in the box the new arrived in and posted it back to Sky, in Auckland.

To my surprise, the old MySky was returned, after a week, with a sticker, from NZ Post, saying it was damaged. Odd that it was returned to my home address as I'd never included my address. Who gave them my address?

After much frustration, we decided to revert to old MySky box and asked if Sky could install MySky and reactivate my card. Sky agreed and I was to return my new box and get a refund.

I wanted to keep my new box and wait until the new box had received enough updates to make is properly usable as I'm sure it will improve.

We made sure that all the recorded programs were watched before I reinstalled the old box. But as I checked out the old box, I noticed, for the first time, that the only damage was to the Input 1 connection. The one to screw in the satellite cable. How very convenient!

I can see this being problematic. Call or email SKY (and waste a lot of time) and ask for a new 'old' box to be sent to me or just give up and live with the new box??

Yes. I was very polite in my tome like response. Giving a breif(ish) history of our time with Sky, with the good times being when there was a relationship between VFNZ & Sky, going thru the ok times with VTV.......and then the disastrous Android device rollout and how it was the last straw that led us going Sky-free.

Been almost a month without it. Been getting by with an old DishTV Satbox and Chromecast. However to reduce the plethora of remotes and add more versatility I bought a DishTV A7070. I still need to master it, but the basics are all there.....and 'she who makes the rules' is coping and loving the single remote. Thought about taking a video and sending it to Sky with a comment along the lines of "Maybe you guys should've spoken to DishTV"

These are Android TV versus Google TV, and on reflection the latter product needs to share some blame with the new Sky devices. As I firmly believe the Google skin over the Android base adds too much fluff.

They asked me to send mine back and they would send me a track pack big enough to fit the HD+ box, I thought that's not going to protect it in transit so I put it in a box with 4 spare remotes and that wifi adapter they gave us some time back and cut out the label on the trackpack when it arrived and taped it to the box.

So there should be no damage on my part
