Having some trouble getting the sky dish to work while camping, using a mysky box and a sky dish, have tried different cable and different lnb but still no luck, just getting nothing, seem to be pointing in the correct direction and same elevation as everyone else. but still nothing. I also have a sat finder but that is not being much help either, I have a dual throat lnb on there. Using a mysky hdi brought from home, have checked the frequency is set correct, for the lnb is there any others required. Any suggestions?

I am assuming that you are using a sat meter with a needle.

Most people dont know how to use them properly.

To start with connect the meter as you would, then adjust the gain control until the needle is in the middle.

Move the dish slightly one way and see if it raises or falls, once you have better signal, wind the gain back to half way again and keep repeating until you have max signal, you can then tilt up and down as needed.

Takes me about 30 seconds to do a dish using this method.

Thankfully I have solved this issue turned out to be the trees, after some advice on how to use the sat finder it was easy to tell there was something not quite right, have now got it setup about 10 meters from the caravan, thanks all for the advice
