Hi all,

I am a long time Vodafone customer and a previous Sky TV customer. Just today I have signed up to Vodafone TV with Sky add on's (Basic, Sport, Movies). I have a couple of questions that the person over the phone wasn't really able to fill me in on...

I have UFB 100mbps and I do a lot of online gaming through Playstation and PC. Will the Sky services running through the UFB slow down my other internet speeds or cause lag in gaming or browsing?
I have Antenna cables between rooms in my house. Previously I could connect an antenna cable from the Sky box into the wall in the lounge, and then in the bedroom I could plug a TV into the wall and watch Sky in two rooms (albeit on the same channel). Is this possible with the new Sky TV boxes considering they run through ethernet cable? If not through antenna, how can it be done?
Anything I need to know about Vodafone TV that they won't tell me before I sign up? I know the box is slow as all hell but other than that is there any difference than just having regular SkyTV?

As thecatsgoolies mentioned it's delivered over multicast so doesn't affect your WAN bandwidth.

There are RF in/out ports on the STB however I don't think they're configured to work as you describe, if at all.
You could use some sort of composite to RF encoder to send the video over your existing coax or simply a wireless AV sender.
I would be interested to see what would happen if you simply plugged an additional Vodafone TV in the other room (I may know someone with a spare one lying around you could test this with).
If you're the adventurous sort you could look into intercepting the UDP streams on your PC and watching them that way (I know some are unencryped, not sure if all are).

Chorus will run a new Cat6 Ethernet cable from your router to your Vodafone TV; think carefully about where you want them to run this cable, you can always move the STB afterwards and plug it into any ethernet port / TV.
If you're using your own router (as opped to VF supplied one) you may have issues getting VFTV / multicasting working propperly.

If you specifically need the RF Out port, then be sure to state this. The latest new units do not have this output, only HDMI, Component, composite and S-Video.

The TV service won't affect your internet performance.

Only other tip is to ensure the technician checks you are on software release 3.10.5 build 7 as this is the latest software release.
