Thanx for all the help with the previous question;

I duuno if I’m right though but I seem to have the perspective now:

When you connect to the GPRS network through your laptop (using Bluetooth) you’ll get similar download speeds as a dial-up modem. (Now Part 2) As we’re using the GPRS network this speed will be the same for all phone. (ie. If I use the latest Smartphone or my Motorola v525) I’ll still get the same speeds as the channel for data is GPRS and not any internal (phone-based) modem.

All help appreciated. Thanx for all the help; still new so till learning

Yes, that's the idea. Some phones have different GPRS classes though. The Motorola and the i-mate Smartphone2 are Class 10. Other classes have different number of channels up and down, impacting in the total speed.
