So there are heaps of impressive phones out in the market. Have been looking at the Samsung Omnia, Samsung INNOV8, SE Xperia X1, Google G1, Nokia N85/N96 ---> Unfortunately cannot afford any of those at the moment.
Wondering, where to get a sidekick 2008 from and how much it would be? Besides that.. Kinda confused as to what phone to get. Been offered Sasung F700 and F480 but I think they both have some issues.. according do user reviews..
So What's a good buy at the moment? P.S I just got rid of my N95 8GB so I dont want a significant downgrade. Just hoping to try something different for a change.

Yup, good call on the 5800. Very cheap for the feature set, quite different to the N95, but its the Touch-based version of the same OSas the N95 so you should feel at home quickly enough.

Other phones worth thinking about:

Nokia N82 - not too different to the N95, but better camera (Xenon flash), and candybar styled
Nokia 5800 - feature phone only, but nice nevertheless
E66/71 - E-Series phones, quite a bit cheaper than the ones out of your price range, superb build quality

There is nothing decent in the Windows Mobile world in your price range, so I'd say ignore those options unless you suddenly get more dosh (and then think about the Korean Omnia, Xperia, or Touch Pro/Touch HD). I have an N82 currently and a Touch Pro, and will have an Xperia within the week, so if you want more info on those handsets I'll happily drop a comparison for you.

The 5800 does look pretty neat indeed. wont be too expensive too. pretty decent. however , worried about the build quality as most of it is plastic. hmmm... so let me know on how the xperia experience is...
