Could anyone please tell me whether CDMA phones operating with frequency 800 MHz / 1900 Mhz in India will be compatible with Sprint PCS service in USA ?
thanks

Yes they are. Sprint PCS operate at 1900MHz. It just depends on whether or not Sprint have a roaming agreement with a CDMA carrier in India.

Note: In general, you cant just take a CDMA phone into another country and just connect it. The only normal way of using a handset like that is roaming, which incurs much higher charges.

Are you looking at a one-off, or importing phones for sale?

That will be a problem. Sprint PCS do not sell Nokias so purchasing a Nokia from India and connecting it to Sprint will not be possible.

Sprint has a Nokia phone model number 3155i , Reliance Service in India has the same phone model number 3155, that is why im wondering whether it supports or not.
Thanks a lot

Ok - it will still not work as you would need to reprogram the phone with Sprint network settings and the ESN/AKey would need loading on the Sprint network by Sprint.

CDMA operators in general will not enable third party supplied handsets because of Jama's explanation - there are things to do on the network side, not only on the mobile itself.
