all very good points... still, voda aren't going to come out with a statement sayin "we're stoked that Telecom are beating us!! Our advertising has been stale for at least 6 months, and they have a good technical proposition for the years a head!!" now are they?

But some of the points raised by Vodafone were quite valid - Telecom got as low as around 15000 new connections in the 1st Q of last year while Vodafone have stayed around the 70000-100000 area every quarter. If Telecom hadn't started performing soon you would have to be asking some serious questions about their strategy. There is no disputing Vodafone's marketing has become a little stale and they obviously did did get caught off guard however I think the next few months will prove very interesting. Some of the new 3GSM handsets shown off in Canne this are finally proof it's possible to build a 3GSM handset that isn't a brick like previous attempts and Vodafone should launch with some very good products. It's been widely acknowledged in Oz that Vodafone's marketing has been the best in the mobile market over the past 6 months and by coincidence their marketing man starts back at Vodafone NZ next month. Competition is always a great thing and here's hoping with a rejuvinated Telecom we finally see some.
