Hi, does anyone have a solution for operating TiVo behind the closed doors of an entertainment unit? The S1 used to support a cheap IR Blaster but not the S3...
Would prefer not to use Network Remote.
Cheers

Thanks, now that I've actually taken the time to investigate this, maybe something like this would work?
I use Philips Prontos and the IR blasters work perfectly with my S3 Tivos.

Hi, where did you source the blaster? Is it a USB type? Cheers.

Most Philips Prontos can convert IR commands to RF that are then sent to an RF Extender that sends them to IR blasters (supplied with the RF Externder) for attaching to the front of Tivos and almost any other device that receives IR commands. That way you can control your devices from another room. No these are not USB devices, it's a complete system, and there are different generations of Prontos and RF Extenders. Many would consider them Old School these days, but I've had a really good run from them over the years.
