Nope, it hasn't been modified. I want to try an experiment and see if I can redirect the internet traffic being sent from from my unmodified TiVo to be sent to the new mothership instead. To do that I need the Iv4 IP adddress (assuming its using IPv4) of the new mothership, not its dial code. Xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I rate my Chances of success low, but a line of code in a router would be WAY simpler than having to unsolder/resolder proms and hard drive patching. I already killed one TiVo going down that route...

I am not too upset at the recent demise of that TiVo . It had suffered some kind of failure in its video output circuitry before it was given to me, and only the AV output produced any image. No way I would have actually used that in my home theatre even if the operation had been successful.

I opened it up with the intention of learning from the experience, and I did.

I will recover all of the valuable bits from it before recycling the remnants.

But yes, if my current attempts at re-routing in the IP domain don't work out, I will be looking for someone to do the deed on my current unit. Could be in touch yet...

If your Tivo is showing Pre-Daylight Saving Time (i.e the displayed time in System Information is one hour out) , check this out.

A modification has been made to the emulator (OzTivo mothership) to resolve this problem being seen by some modified Tivo owners. This has been happening in some cases, if your Tivo wasn't connected when Daylight saving started this year, and some have seen it after a Clear & Delete.

Please try the following in this order, and report back what you needed to do, to resolve it. If the problem is resolved at step 1 (Check the System Information menu when you've done this) don't progress to the next step. If not, progress to step 2 and recheck and so on.

1. Try a manual connect to the mothership by going to the Network menu, and connect to the Tivo service

2. Try a new Guided Setup from the Restart or Reset System Menu.

3. Try a Clear & Delete followed by a Guided Setup. Note: You'll lose your recordings and HNP if you have one.

Well #1 came up with a Fail when connecting

#2 worked and corrected the time.

But mine still says that its been over 30 days since connection when i press the guide button.

No biggy i guess at this point

I think you are correct sprong, in that my tivo motherboard was from another tivo, and may not have been connected during DST changeover.

However, I did not have to do anything you listed, as it fixed itself over the weekend. Aussie Mothership must now have included some sort of fix...

If so, which one, and how have you found it? I need to order some for spares, but they need to be quiet and efficient. I'm going to look further afield also, but they maybe worth looking at?

It didn't fix itself by magic. Much of the work in getting the new mothership up and running happened prior to daylight saving happening this year. The way that Tivos interacted with the old mothership in relation to daylight saving, was only understood fully when you and a few others experienced this problem. Our trusty Kiwi developer formulated a fix between 12.00am Friday evening and 11am Saturday. It appears you only needed to make a connection to the mothership to fix it, and this has also helped prevent a problem for everyone when Daylight saving ends.

They are really only cost effective if you buy a few and then use a super cheap reshipper like Ship2U to get them to NZ. If newegg send them direct they want to charge far too much for shipping.

The same fan is available from Amazon.

just watching 'Predator'. 80's nostalgia!

But quickly realize how much I am going to miss my HNP. Normally I would transfer this movie to the home theater room for watching.

I will remain hopeful that this feature can be restored to all. Also the ability to name the tivo's.

There's my first 'Wish list' item.

Definitely would like to beta test that one.

Not so anymore, possibly another 12 + to do after having said that an being PM'd. I think those that are performing the service need to stick their heads up now and then. Or create a sticky contact list?

Have you got a backup from your tivo drives that haven't had a clear and delete were and were connected to the old mothership ?

as it would be on there.. Before I did a clear and delete on friday, HNP was on that drive along with the my Tivo name.

I have a backup of it and the old green drive as well that has been patched with HNP on it.

i've been debating that if I ever need HNP i'll try putting it in the Tivo and see what happens ?

Unfortunately my main tivo with the HNP was stuck on 11.3b6-xxx, After trying every trick in the book to get it to update from the old mothership I resigned to starting over with a fresh image on a new 2tb drive.

Then did the same with the old 2tb drive transferred into our home theater tivo replacing its 1tb drive. I sill have that image with HNP on the 1tb.

All keys HNP and MAK I have recorded in case we can make use of them in the future.

Had I noticed at the start of the year that our main tivo was stuck on old firmware the scenario would have been different.

Adding these HNP features to the new mothership I think would be one of the best additions.
