Hi,

We have two Tivos, series 3 and neither of us are technical enough to do any chips / mod changes or software changes.  We are in Helensville and are happy to ship our Tivos and pay for postage back if necessary.
If anyone is willing to do this for us.  Even happy to pay.  Please PM me.

thanks

Julie

Hi Julie,

If you don't get any responses on here, you can search for TiVo on Trademe and a couple of people offering modding service should come up.

When you go into the guided setup it will ask you if you have activated your tivo

Click on the yes option. Did you click on the no option ?

Cant say I even saw that part.

Will try that again and see if it shows.

I would have said yes

It defaults to no so you may have clicked straight through it...

Check that the Dial Code in System Information is 140 (you'll need to wait several minutes after boot before this shows the correct number and you don't need to change this.) If you're connecting to the correct mothership, is it   connecting and progressing? You should not be having troubles with this. Does your TSN show in System Information? If not, a Clear and Delete, and guided setup connecting to the new mothership should go without any drama.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

Anyone want a Tivo to practice all this modding stuff on?

We have retired ours as we have MySky and I have a TV card in my PC so can't imagine needing the Tivo.

Does not have the remote as that is my daughters favourite toy, and nothing could make me deprive an 8 month old her favourite toy :)

You will need to pick it up in Pukekohe out of hours, or at Parnell between 6am and 2pm.

Comes with wi-fi dongle.

Strange that almost sounds like the software on the Tivo drive hasn't been patched (wont be related to the prom). Did you do the software modification yourself?  If so I would try it again it will tell you if its already patched so no harm running it again.
