Sounds like you have it modified correctly then. Did you do the Clear and Delete (presuming you don't have a HNP as it will wipe that) as Spong mentioned?

Yep, did the Clear and Delete, this tivo didnt have the hnp.
I have read most of the forum and would like to "give it a go". Where to buy a modified prom from please?

Yes, I'm well stocked with PROMS now with approx 120 here now.
Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz
Re: Restoring / Enabling HNP function.
As many tivo's have been moded and retained HNP function one would think that it would be viable to access the tivo drive from a linux pc of one that has lost this function, Edit some Config files with the appropriate keys and restore lost HNP function?
Maybe this could be done in the same way the Oztivo patch is applied?
Food for thought or am i barking up the wrong tree.
Simon.
Good news.
Have the other Tivo Prom'd today, put the Updated Tivo HD in (ver 11.3b10.2017XXXX ).
Did a resetup (so as not to lose my recordings) and YEAHHHHHHHHHH
Network info still there as well.
My PC see's the tivo and recordings, but failed to transfer for some reason.
Now to work on the other one thats been a pain.
Now have a clone of my going one, will clone to the other drive. Want 2 running

Work will likely happen in this area in the future. The MAK keys are backed up during the software install, in case they can be used in future.

Hello everyone,
Thanks to all of you who messaged me offering your help.
We have just had our two Tivos fixed by rphenix:
https://www.geekzone.co.nz/user_public.asp?user_id=29761
Thank you so much rphenix. With neither of us being technical, your a life saver!
We are very grateful!
Julie and Tony
A very big thank you to rphenix. He upgraded 5 of my tivos plus my daughter's tivo. All my tivos have the HNP/MAK and are all working fantastically. He is based in Auckland. If anybody wants their tivos upgraded to the new ozTivo mothership, he is the man to go to. I highly recommend him. I am so pleased and happy and long live tivo.![]()
I would also like to say a big thank you to spong. He has been so helpful with all the advice and recommendations he has given me and to all other people here on geekzone. He has been a big part of the tivo community here in New Zealand in regards to working along side the Aussies in keeping our tivos alive. Even if some of us were able to do our own conversions or went elsewhere close to where we live to get out tivos done, none of this would have been possible without people like Spong as he has been so instrumental in helping us keep our tivos going. I would like to take this opportunity to ask others here on geekzone to acknowledge all the good work spong has done and show our appreciation. He has helped us so much to keep our beloved tivos. Thank you so much spong.
Hi all.
I've been following this thread on and off for a while.
Now the kinks seem to have been mostly eliminated, will people be advertising their services to upgrade these Tivo boxes?
Perhaps these services exist already - if so can someone please point me in the correct direction.
I have at least three people interested in the upgrade :)
Cheers
Mark.

If you've been following the threads here, you'll be aware that there are a few people dong this. I've been doing these upgrades as part of my usual business from the beginning, as well as supplying PROM chips and support plus additional Tivo upgrade related work from day one. I'm also part of the group responsible for this development, but only as a tester. Most of us don't like to "advertise" here as this isn't something you should do in a Geekzone forum. However, I've sent you a PM outlining the processes and work I can carry out for you. I notice that some have come and gone. I don't think these people have a true passion for the Tivo.

Yes please can everyone search through the thread there is numerous people in different parts of NZ available to help out and do the mod- Spong and I in Auckland but there are others in different regions - its been stated a few times :) Spong is also been a great help sending people individually chips if they want to do it themselves (including my own Tivo till I had a supply of chips of my own).
Hi,
I have just got my chipped Tivo back. (thanks Liam @ Phoenix Tech Chch)
It has synced to the mothership & is displaying a full TV guide.
I do have 1 problem & 1 question.
The Time on the guide is 6 minutes out (slow)
and is there anyway of removing the " Tivo Service Ends Oct 31 " message from the main menu.
Thanks to everyone who has made this happen
John
