I have the Xiaomi Mi 1C Robot, it works well generally. I have one area the robot can't get to because of steps. If I carry it down the steps and push the "go" button will it vacuum the area without affecting the map in the app, or will it affect the smart map? I don't want to lose the map as I have things like virtual walls so it doesn't go places it shouldn't.

We have the same model and regularly use it in 2 other areas outside the main map.  We carry it down the steps, push go and let it complete, carry it up steps and press home and it finds its way to charge. The main map on the app doesnt change (not sure what it shows while doing the other area though).

Great to hear some models provide for this - it’s something I’ve been too scared to try with my own cleaner as at took a decent amount of time to get the map and zones etc set up precisely how we want it (and there doesn’t appear to be any ability to properly back up the maps).

Does anyone know if the same applies to Mi/Roborock cleaners that use LIDAR etc? I’ve got a Roborock S5, and I really would like to be able to use it in our external HT without stuffing up the main house map.
