Sorry @ghettomaster but I can't find them. I spent a while looking in the shed and in cupboards, but there's no sign of them. They'll probably turn up in summer when I do a big cleanout. I'll ask me wife, see if she's seen them, and let you know if she has any ideas, but I wouldn't hold your breath sorry.

I did find all kinda of other things. Squash balls, shuttlecocks, large sheets of PVC I used to use for double glazing (worked great), some old hinges, etc, etc. Not very helpful though!

Hi-jack. Did you double glaze yourself using PVC? I'd love to see a thread or more info about the process!

Nope, I used a company that did it. In essence they screwed PVC sheets on the inside of the windows, with some white trim. It was meant to be magnetic but it wasn't strong enough so they just screwed it in.

Had it all redone with proper double glazing recently. It's a bit warmer, a bit louder, and a lot more expensive.

I've installed ones that are similar to these: https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/yale-safety-stays/p/214137 (but paid $10 each installed from a local window installer!)

They go inside the window frame and cannot be removed without drilling. Have never had to open a window wider than they allow.

You're not on Atlantis anymore, Duncan Idaho.
