Put me in the rational rather than cool/dreamer camp. I have seen no rational reason in NZ to pay large sums of money up front to make me feel good and enrich salespeople who can't/won't do simple arithmetic and risk analyses.
And, yes, I certainly don't agree with shifting more of a burden onto non solar homes.

I will be putting enough in to cover my baseline load only after I get the shed roof repaired. No sense putting in any more than that.
If storage becomes economical then expanding it is a possibility but stuffed if I am going to sell back power at 5c to have them turn around and sell it at 25c.
