Yeah, the whole thing feels like used car sales techniques.

High pressure, leading questions, lots of talk about not wasting each other's time just dropping a quote via email

I get there is some qualification perhaps required, but yeah made me feel ick.

i dont know why you think its high pressure? there is no pressure to buy and they are collecting info to be able to prepare you a quote.

leading questions?

Yes talking to someone about it is not everyones cup of tea but it does help the company sell a better product that just giving your address and letting them work it out for you. also saves back and forth.

Lightforce also wanted to do the big presentation/high pressure sales pitch, they were instantly off the table, the guys I went with were awesome, gave me a nice quote and pdf with all the specs and forecasting with no fuss, customised everything as I wanted, then came over for a quick chat/scoping when I liked what was offered

Lightforce were awful

Really pushy with a high price the sales guy had to talk to his manager about later and suddenly knocked $8k off it or something.

A few companies I found like that, but quite a few not like that also.

terrible roof for solar, no real north facing roof, east face has a couple of valleys and the west face has 2 big trees

Pretty shitty site. Big power lines overhead, shading issues, complex roof on the east side, panels facing west. Probably not really worth the installation $.

Not quite in the 'Home solar' category but this is looking like being a huge solar and wind development in WA.

Yes, some places get it. Instead we have "PeeWee" locking us into dirty expensive gas import contracts. The Aussies will be laughing all the way to the bank as their stupid cuzzies over the ditch  fail to get with the plan.

Oz is really winding up on the solar now, looks like that Singapore thing may go ahead too.

We just need an empty desert to put them in. I guess if we keep doing what we are doing we will get our own desert eventually.

We've got a few square kilometres of hydro lakes to float them on. The bonus being that the grid connection is already in place at those locations, unlike the middle of the Nullarbor.
