I'd be looking for a bit more if I was signing it off. However assuming it is 48v, what are the rules around sign off ?

Don’t wish to be a downer, though reading post #15 prompts some reservations https://diysolarforum.com/threads/basen-green-diy-case-48v-v2.87477/

Is pricing so much better vs local-sourcing CATL or Micromall 48v ~300/340 AH (with benefit of local service and CGA)?

Crikey ! I looked at these 6 months ago when I was speccing up my system, but discounted them as it was obviously going to be a crap shoot as to what actually arrived. That was after several email exchanges. And you can absolutely guarantee no QC.

Back to the OP. I would not want these within 5m of any flammable part of my dwelling. Certainly not in the basement. Maybe in an outhouse with a sprinkler system. And while you are at it, read AS/NZS3000 and figure out  how to route/secure wiring that becomes part of your installation.

Wouldn't the electrician take care of this for you?

If the sparky had installed it. The OP installed it, so onus is on him to have more than a brief acquaintance with what is required.

Clearly there was a heap of other stuff the electrical inspector checked for sign off, I’m just saying the lack of earthing was one if the things he picked up that was missing. The solar installer needs to come back and sort.

Post 15 looks significantly different pictures internally to mine. Maybe v1 vs v2?

Pricing better yes. NZ$3500 landed for 15kwh (12kwh usable at 80% DoD)

I assembled it, but it was in place and ready before the solar guys installed their side and connected everything up, so the onus is on them. Not exactly hard to run earth cables but still not something I want to be responsible for, sparky will come back to sort. So alg.

Not sure, but is it inside the individual modules you have shown in your image?

[Disclaimer, I know nothing]

You can go either way - empty box with BMS, DIY add your own cells (make sure comes with a good BMS!) or fully assembled. Sounds like chimera purchased fully assembled.

For DIY sounds like the new M30/M31 EVE cells are great (if genuine) https://diysolarforum.com/threads/new-eve-cells-mb30-mb31.81026/

For the record I did a lot of research before buying basengreen. They are becoming pretty popular in the USA and EU. It comes with EVE LiFePO4 batteries which have a good quality rating. They have all the necessary documentation. The quality of all parts is excellent, the bus bars are solid, the v2 has a massive breaker (none on v1) they have fiberglass spacers to go between and around batteries, all connectors are well insulated - it’s just a very good design. I bought direct via alibaba rather than their web site.

https://www.basengreen.com/product/diy-case-for-48v-battery-packenclosure-accessories-usa/

Support to basengreen (via alibaba messaging) has been excellent and very responsive.

So take it how you like, I’m impressed by these units.

Oop pardon @chimera, missed your 'I assembled' note. And not meaning to cast aspersions - super impressed with your setup.

Does BG take GST or pinged by customs?
