My wife is a wannabe coffee junkie. She doesn't want a coffee brewer too cumbersome.

wants the nespresso type where you buy a pot and get coffee coming out ...

are they any good? are they reliable? any good (50% off) deals anywhere?

i keep telling her to make herself isn't it so much cheaper to not have to buy those little pots?

I have a Latissima + (with the integrated milk frother). I love it. I use it everyday, currently with the Robert Harris Roma capsules. I have a "double shot" with some milk, so I use 2 capsules per cup for my morning cup. At night I would have the odd decaf latte (using Nespresso Decaffinato Intensio).

I'm not fussy, I enjoy the coffee it produces and it is just one button to make a cappuccino or latte. Cleaning it is easy, just throw the milk jug in the dishwasher once a week. Every few months run the descaler kit.

If I were to buy it again, I would probably buy one with the separate milk frother as I'd like more control over how much milk goes in the coffee.

Go check out the Nespresso store, they'll let you try different flavours and show you how the machines work.

EDIT: just as aside, I also have a Aeropress which I take on trips. Makes really nice coffee from fresh grinds (more comparable to a filter machine). Cheap and quick.
