Browsing for a good Door Bell solution and found this.

https://ring.com/
Has anyone here have this, any comments or alternative suggestions?

Thanks

I've got a Ring and the accompanying Chime (wall-plugged wifi chime/speaker) as well.

Very happy with both and the company/team behind it.

A bit of history, the Ring is actually their Gen 2 device. I signed up for the Kickstarter campaign for the "Doorbot" device. It worked ok but was a bit slower and less features.
Then Doorbot re-branded to Ring (same company) and sent a free Ring device if you paid the shipping.

Also lucky for me, I opted to be a Beta tester so they sent me the Chime for Free and gave me unlimited Video cloud storage for life.

As for features.
The built-in motion sensor is definitely handy and adjustable from your smartphone.

Picture Quality is good, as is the build quality - a fair bit better than the original Doorbot as they changed streaming formats.

I'm on ADSL2+ but I purposefully moved to Annex M to give me slightly better upload speeds (0.8Mbps vs 1.5MBps)

The response time when the device is triggered (either motion or button) to the push notification on your phone is pretty good, especially considering how far away we are from their data centers.
With Fibre or VDSL this would possibly be better but I'm certainly happy (and so is the Wife) with how responsive it is now just with ADSL2+.

I highly recommend the Chime unit. It's faster than the push notification to your phone (local Wifi vs cloud push to Apple/Android). Also means if you're phone isn't handy, you still know if there is motion or the doorbell has been pushed while at home.

Battery Charge, not sure if it would last a year... I'm on the beta firmware stream so they focus on new features rather than battery life until the kinks are worked out.

Ease of install - very easy if you just want to use battery. If you want constant power, you have to have a wired doorbell.. even then, it's not too hard.
Install Tip - PRE DRILL your screw holes else you'll shear off the heads.

Hope it Helps!
