Hi all

I have a fair number of airpoints dollars about to expire and I'm looking at spending them.

The Weber Family Q3200 BBQ would be nice but they only seem to do the Q3100 on the rewards sites.  The difference between the two is the 3200 has a 10% higher hood (so a little bit more room inside) and a factory fitted temperature gauge.

You can buy the Q3200 hood and swap it over but I've seen on Aussie sites that they are about A$280 so not really a cost viable option bearing in mind the 3200 is only $50 more expensive if buying from a retailer with both models..

Has anybody here fitted a temperature gauge to a Weber Q? There are a few Youtube vids and it appears easy enough to drill a hole and fit an aftermarket temperature gauge. Then the only thing I'm missing out on is the little bit of extra height, and I'm not sure missing an extra 2cm of height inside the lid would bother me a huge amount.

Thanks.

This is what you need. I've got one and it's great. Select the meat type on the phone and away you go. Great results.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
