Hello. We are getting a new Mitsubishi ducted air conditioning system installed with their Lossnay fresh air ventilation system. We have been given couple of options of diffuser shape types. Circular vs Swirl. Stud height is 2.7M and diffusers will be installed in all rooms. Is there any advantage that one has over the other? In residential I have mostly seen Circular style but mostly in shopping malls and commercial offices, I have seen swirl type.

The swirl is designed for more rapid mixing of the air for faster cooling and heating. The circular is for low noise, low turbulence and even distribution.

Definitely the circular ones preferably adjustable so you can wind them open/shut to get each room exactly as you like it. I had the swirl ones in my last house and hated them as the air hit the floor quickly making a draught. Had the circular ones (Holyoake) in the house before last, and did them again in current house and really happy with them.
