Sorry to start a new topic, the other thread I found was locked

I just bought a new Samsung 6300 48 Inch TV (non 3D)

Straight away I go to the Unotelly page to see how to change region to get Netflix app

there is a helpful guide which shows how to use the 'new' remote control to enter a code to unlock this menu

(this new remote has a touch screen and looks horrible, IMHO)

Unfortunately, my TV did not come with this new remote, it came with the older regular remote only

As the guide states the unlock code will ONLY work with this new remote, does anyone know of another way to unlock the region ?

Dont know what this new touchscreen remote is - but this page shows a regular sort of remote:

Is this what you are after:

Ah yes, that is my remote, and that is the code to unlock 2013 and previous TVs

the 2014 (F and H) models have a new code, and according to the guide I read you need the new remote :(

Oh and of course I did try this (2013) code many times on my TV

It did suggest to try it in the 'home screen' - whatever that is - can anyone clarify which is the home screen ?

Try this guide, basically perform the button presses on the Setup Screen (Check note on Step 7)

Just wanted to say I finally sorted it out

Thanks eluSiveNZ, that guide led to a tip that worked for me

Basically, if you have the old remote the old code should still be valid, it's just a matter of where to put it in

It worked for me at the terms & conditions page acceptance screen, you may need to try a few times, but it works.

I am now set to UK which gives me Netflix & BBC.

The apps run very smoothly -  better than on my PS3 -must be the quad core CPU

BBC sports App runs very well (always had issues on PS3 version) and was able to watch live Commonwealth Games smoothly.

I also saw that in the country selection list, the very first option was something like 'all Apps'

I was tempted to select it, not sure if really unlocks all region Apps or not - has anyone else tried this ?
