I could connect directly to the TV, which would display HDR10+, but It doesn't have eARC support, so I would not get Dolby Atmos through my receiver.

Hopefully i didnt misread your post....But You dont need eARC to get Atmos. eARC will give you uncompressed atmos over Dolby True HD ie from a 4K UHD Disc. ARC will give you compressed atmos over Dolby Digital Plus. So no issues for compressed streaming services.

Thanks for the info guys. I might wait and upgrade my TV in the Black Friday/Boxing Day sales. The Panasonic Z95A looks amazing, but I don't need the sound system that it has built in. Might look at the Z85A instead.

Whatever is the best deal at the time could point me in the direction of Sony or LG, TCL and Samsung also come into the mix 😁

A few posts back, we were discussing the lack of an option to purchase TV Show Seasons in the NZ Apple Store. I don't know if it will ever happen for us, but I recently finished watching THE PENGUIN on SKY/HBO. It is a 10/10 for me, and I found myself wishing that I could purchase this series from Apple or, indeed, anywhere digitally. My viewing was in 1080p/Dolby 5.1 and I can only imagine what it will look and sound like in Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos.

There are options to buy it on physical media, but I am not prepared to pay the Earth for it 🤨

Cheap Charts continue to be a bit up-in-the-air regarding new releases and sale items.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE is listed as being "New on Apple TV" at a price of $17.99/$5.99. I searched both the Apple TV app and iTunes on my PC, but no listing here.

Let's hope that it will become available soon.

One of my favourite Westerns from the 90's is getting a 4K release on physical media from Disney/Buena Vista in April. It won't be officially released here on disc, but there is hope for a Digital release.

Tombstone (1993) starring Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Michael Biehn and a stack of other prominent actors is the film in question. I already have it in my library, and the good news is that an extras package with the new artwork has just been added to the listing.

This is a good sign that people who already own it will get a free 4K upgrade, others can wait for it to drop to $4.99 😁 The Gunfight at the OK Corral in 4K... can't wait

On the other hand, Kill Bill 1 & 2 have the new 4K artwork in the Apple Store, but still no sign of an upgrade.
