Dumb question: but has anyone actually managed to add another user/profile into their account? I have a mate who's now been cut off  (Netflix says they're not in the household, blah blah) but it's not super-obvious on how to add people??? Instructions are straight forward, but it's almost like you can't do this in NZ.... Any help would be greatly appreciated

:)

If it’s bundled with something else I.e the Spark Netflix plan it cannot be done, otherwise there should be a way.

I’m planning on resubscribing to Netflix soon for couple of months so will see if can find a way when do. Someone might have posted by then.

Roger. Yeah, it’s bundled with Spark - bugger

My sister in NZ has been using my account. Been working for a long time but now stopped. I guess her free ride is now over.

I was using my brothers account until he received the email saying this wasn't allowed. I took Netflix up on their offer of me having my own account off my brothers for $7.99/month, which is probably about how much Netflix is worth to me.

Does anyone know if its possible to transfer profiles from one account to another?

E.g.
Account 1 - Auckland based
Person A
Person B
Person C

Account 2 - Wellington based
Person D

Could i move the profile of say Person A to Account 2?

Which is probably a fair and reasonable outcome for all concerned.

Looks like you can move it to a new account, but not to an existing one :(

Netflix reports 6M new subscribers since they introduced this.

I'd say they are definitely on the winning end of this particular change and the world didn't end.

They're hardly likely to say they lost 6 million 🤪

I visit friends and have a movie night on mine each week. So this will be fun. As one of my smart TVs last weekend forced me off and made me confirm household device/IP via email

They are a publically traded company and not allowed to make blatantly misleading statements that materially affect shareholders. If they lose 6M subscriptions they would be in huge trouble if they said they gained 6M.

Several months in, this is working OK for us.  My SO travel to another town for work every week and we have a second home there with Netflix on smart TVs in both homes.  As long as one of our mobile devices is used to view Netflix in both homes each month, Netlfix keeps working on the TV in the second home.  A minor PITA, but simple enough.

They could also have lost 7m existing viewers, and gained 6m new viewers - technically their statement would still be correct.

Exactly. If they meant their subscriber base grew by 6 million they would have said net new customers.

That was what I was wondering. How do they define new customer. If someone cancelled for a couple of months, then put it back on for a couple of months, when they put it back on would they count as new customer?

If it’s a success long term will be if they make more revenue every month. I suspect it may be a win for them long term, but wait and see. My main concern was if it would be a major inconvenience for customers if watch more then one location, but so far doesn’t sound like anyone blocked in that situation.

If I could find someone to split costs 4K probably keep it on all the time, but everyone I know is on Spark bundle or HD.

$25.00+$8=$33. Split by two is $16.50 a month.

As it is I’ll just do $25 a few months a year. From Just Watch looks like more 3rd party movies maybe 4K, but not sure if accurate. It’s showing Angel has Fallen as 4K.
