if it is a dedicated new channel, then it is unlikely to be in HD I think.

If that is the case there will be a few people in this thread very disappointed as apparently watching football in anything less than HD makes you eyes bleed.

Yup me included. If it is not HD then I'm going to Al Jazeera sport as they have decent HD streaming. I'd also be disappointed to see that football in NZ has gone backwards at present rather than forwards.

I really doubt they would be hiving off a new channel..... I suspect that they will do what they have been doing with 'Arse' TV & City TV and show their content in a program format on SkySports 1-4. I am also hoping they will be showing content from Spurs TV in the same way.

Isn't SkyTV's deal directly with the clubs and not with the EPL...?

As for the delayed weekly games, I have a terrible feeling that they will show these in program format a minimum of 12 hours after the games play, with the clubs own TV commentary, (ughhh!). I guess they could in theory show all four games at the same time over four channels, but there is nothing stopping them showing them sequentially. I guess we will all find out this coming weekend...!

I am going to check out this Al Jazera too.
Alternatively Arsenal player offers free replays, delayed of course. How delayed though, I am unsure.

The quality is comparable to PLP.

I wish sky would get their act together. I dont think I can stand a delay after 1pm......

The deal Sky have with Arsenal appears to be Arsenal Player but in HD and on TV. When they appear on there will be the earliest the delayed replays are available but how soon remains to be seen. They had the Man City game the other day available very soon after the game finished.

Getting pretty close to the weekend now for there still to be nothing in the schedule. As it's been left so late and the schedule is now set for the weekend I wonder whether we might even end up missing out this week, or maybe not getting them until Wendesday/Thursday, then getting a better schedule next weekend. A same day screening will be fine for me (so if the 3am Sunday game can be screened at some point on Sunday etc) but I'm not going to try to avoid hearing results for several days.

There is plenty of room for new SD channels on Sky. You can bet MUTV being a niche channel, it will be a sports pack addon like the Rugby Channel, for an extra $6-$9 a month

Isn't the Optus satellite at capacity? i.e. no room for more channels?

Even if there is room, I doubt Sky will try and charge for the extra channel(s). having lost the EPL, they could hardly justify charging us to see delayed footage on top of the existing subs, which haven't changed.

Yeah Optus pretty much is, they had to reduce the quality of some of the feeds when they created the additional HD channels for the Olympics.

Benoire: @JasonM13. which VPN are you using to access Aljazeera?
You dont need a vpn just smart dns i believe then the connection is as good as your home connection

So does the Aljazerra look alot better?
It looks better to me as its coming from a hd source

What smart DNS service are you using?  I use Unblock US, but doesn't have any middle eastern countries, so need to find another smart DNS service that does if i wanted to have a look at this.

Have you tried mediahint.com great extension for Firefox or chome to get around the geoblocking. Only drawback is it's web based so will be convenient for some set-ups.

I'm gonna see if I can access http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra/ and watch this way for free before trying to sign-up for a local service...

Also hola.org seems to be a good option. I am watching their team guide now.
I guess if they show it free to air, then you can access this stuff.

Its also worth mentioning that slingshot has global mode, which has turned off geoblocking. If that function still works.
