Some trivia. The commentators call the Chinese guy "zoo", or it sounds like zoo. The correct way is "Joe"

The gap between F2 and F3 cars is about 1-2 seconds per lap. Some of the leading F3 cars would have actually beaten the slowest F2 cars.

The gap between F1 and F2 is about 20 seconds, which seems about right.

I thought the whole point of F3, F2 and f1 was the progression of horsepower and faster cars.

Benoire: Nope been solid casting and good quality. App usability concerns still there but getting better.

I am having hells own problems with my CCu.  Pretty sure it's a CC problem.  Black screen, reboot, get picture but no sound.  It's a nightmare.  Horrible piece of kit.

So terrible time this morning with chromecast. Started fine and was able to drag the slider around to get the start time sorted, continued fine until around lap 40 when the app on my phone crashed and killed everything. App refused to chrome cast until it was killed but after which I can only time shift when not casting, trying to do so while casting drops the stream back to the beginning with the slider showing 0:00 instead of normal time.

Incredibly frustrating trying to use this damn app.

That is exactly what was happening to me yesterday with the qualy VOD.  I put it down to the CC and indeed it may be that.  We ended up both perched on office chairs watching the iMac.

The user experience on this platform remains rubbish. We want to sit on comfortable chairs in our lounge watching the big screen!  Imagine a couple of old die-hard rugger fans dealing with this sh!te.

I'm going to jack a laptop into the TV (i.e. use the TV as the laptop screen) and see if that works.  I anticipate rubbish sound.

IOS

I must say I find the relationships between these devices/casts puzzling.  I think I've cracked it and then I get surprised again.  My typical routine is to cast from an iPad (IOS obviously).  The cast stream becomes out of sync with the iPad as soon as I pause or rewind/ffwd etc.  I believe I understand why that is (the CC is a separate instruction) but it's major hassle and guessing game to restart if you've paused to go away and have dinner or whatever.

But yesterday, the nonsense that was going on just getting the CC to cast the stream!  I did soft and hard reboots, you name it.  Best I could get was the picture being cast with no sound at all.

So I gave up, we watched Q1 of the qualy VOD on the iMac.  Then got up and prepared dinner, whilst watching Q2 of the VOD on the iPad in the kitchen.  Small screen, tinny sound, but hey, better than nothing.

Then, after dinner, went back to the iMac to watch Q3 and found the VOD stream was start of Q3, where we'd left it off on the iPad.  After my CC experiences I was briefly surprised by that (but on reflection guess that's because it was the same stream?).  So the two IOS devices were in sync with each other and playing the same VOD rather than two separate casts of the VOD.

Imagine a Luddite coping with this customer experience.  It'll be a disaster of epic proportions for SS.

I should add, all the above refers to the Qualy VOD

If you still have multiple airport extremes. And the Huawei wifi as mentioned earlier in the thread.

I would emphasise again, double Nat or handing over to wifi APs can possibly mess up Chromecast control more than any known about quirks. There still needs to be real-time communication between the device handling the stream (Chromecast) and the device controlling the position data.

If your devices are handing over between locations, and breaking this, that position data can likely be upset if unable to work out what device+stream was being controlled.

Thanks Oblivian

I am guilty of not understanding what you're saying to any degree.  We have the Spark supplied Huawei (which offers 2 x wifi "networks", namely 5G and not).  The Huawei also has LAN ports as you know and the CC is directly ethernet wired from it.  In other parts of the house we have an Apple airport extreme and an airport express set up in bridge mode to extend the 5G wifi network.

Where the Huawei is, is where the TV is and the CCu.  So the CCu is ethernet connected (not wifi), and the iPad controlling it is on the non-5G network in that immediate vicinity (as for whatever reason the Huawei is rubbish at providing the 5G network).

Are you saying I should (a) not ethernet connect the CCu (seems crazy/slower) and (b) have both the controlling iPad and the CCu on the same same network (either the 5G or not)?  If there's a "best way" to set all that up, I'll do it.

Also happy to turn the 2x apples off to experiemnt ... but there will be mega complaints from the teens in the house!

cheers and thanks for your insight, D

To me its a feeder system, only for drivers. The tech is nowhere near F1, plus F3, the cars are identical, all built by Dallara. 320hp or thereabout, so no more than a local decent sports car, although obviously better tech wise than your local V8

Hopefully the other thread will help. I cast from iPad to CCu and its near perfect. Although this race weekend I just Airplay it, that is identical to CCu quality wise, but I will watch the Porsche race tonight and use CCu
