Is there anyone using Kodi to stream local Freeview on an Amazon Fire TV - and if so have you tried recording (what would be needed to do it)? Is it even possible?

I haven't tried it yet but keen to if anyone knows if Kodi can record it.

freitasm: Can't I record locally?

Pretty sure you can only record if you have a device/tuner.

I set up the live streams and thought it would be good if you could record from the streams - but I drew a blank on finding anything that would let you.

Maybe someone can prove me wrong.

I think someone asked Matt Huisman on his forum the same question and he siad you cant do it - he also mentioned someone about intending to create something to do that one day....

EDIT: He said this under his setup for the simplePVR guide:

You can not use full PVR features (recording etc) with this particular PVR back-end.

It's just an easy way to get IPTV streams and guide support into KODI.
