Both my parents have finally been infected, dad was able to get the anti virals immediately. We've managed to avoid getting it still (for now).

Hopefully, it's mild and he makes a full recovery.

Thanks. All 5 of us have it now, including a 3 week old baby...

Guess what? To register a RAT result successfully you need to provide the exact name currently registered against the baby's NHI. Since it takes time for the birth registration to be processed by the various government systems, you need to enter "Baby of [Mother's Name]" as the first name, if using the name you submitted a couple of weeks ago doesn't work.

Just booked what will be my fifth C19 vaccination for next week - having it done with flu at the same time.

After dodging this for years, I finally got a positive result today. The irony is that it came just a couple of days after my booster, where I was asked "Have you tested positive for covid any time in the last three months?"

This also means the Christmas trip is scrapped.

That sucks. I'm sorry for you and I hope it doesn't happen to me. So far I have escaped it as well. I hope your symptoms are minor to non-existent and the test comes back negative quickly. I wish you at least an acceptable Christmas, if not a merry one.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you recover quickly.

Anecdotally, most of the people I know who had dodged it until now have caught it in the last couple of months. This wave seems to be doing a thorough job of picking up the stragglers.

Quite a few people on their second infection now too - but it's no longer as likely to spread within households as individual immunity wanes at different rates. We've now had six infections across our five-person household - three of whom are unvaccinated, and the remaining two having had nine doses of the vaccine between them.

Bummer.

Had my first +ve a couple of months ago followed by a dry, hacking cough that hung around for a LONG time only disappearing after some drugs but it then came back, so take it easy.

Interestingly, wastewater sampling suggests that case numbers are higher than at any point since this time last year - but reported cases are only running at a third of the number.

Rats.  I'm sorry to hear that, Mauricio.

One of our guys got it this time last year, so it was a disappointing Christmas for him.  When he developed a cough two days ago he was rather underwhelmed, but several tests have been negative thank goodness.

Another of our team has been home all week with it this week, but at least will be OK for Christmas.

Sorry to hear that, that is most unfortunate timing. Rest up.

Ahh.. past times where people would test if someone else did and was near sick people. Or were questioning that throat tickle. And reporting when they were.

Remember those days? They were awesome.

Now I'm pretty sure it's coming from GP (or ambulance in the case of a neighbour) visits and minimal honest Joneses.
