The new travel bubble with Australia (one way) as started off well. Rules must be just for some. Pop goes the bubble.

Be interesting to see if they get wet bus tickets by the Australian authorities, I know they would here.

France average mortality graph is lower due to a disease demographic change. Younger people are getting it and mortality average is lower.

How long do you think this "bubble" will last?

Hope they have a good holiday. They are being sent back to Sydney and will do 14 days. Come back here, another 14.

Selfish people who spoil it for everyone else and it’s not as if it was just one person...fourteen brilliant minds on one flight.

Out of 200 people. That's a good percentage...

Have no idea. Honestly management systems are not going to work. More complicated when international can go to part of a country and not another part, when domestic can.

I did read about 90% of tickets being sold were one way.

Do you have a link, I have tried searching but have only been able to confirm they are being sent back to Sydney.

From article published one hour ago "The report said they were detained and kept at the airport until a flight back to Sydney was available. It's unclear whether they will be able to remain in Sydney."

And now for something completely different ...

The Washington Post - Swiss outbreak blamed on yodeling shows

today

The Swiss pastime of yodeling appears to have led to a major coronavirus cluster in the country, potentially providing more evidence to back up concerns that singing heightens the risk of virus transmission.

Roughly 600 people attended two indoor yodeling shows in late September in the rural canton of Schwyz, according to Agence France-Presse. Social distancing was required, although masks were not.

Several of the yodelers later tested positive for the coronavirus, organizer Beat Hegner told Swiss broadcaster RTS.

While it’s unclear exactly how many cases are linked to the events, infections have surged in Schwyz in recent weeks.  ...

Many public health experts believe that singers have a high risk of spreading the coronavirus because they tend to emit large volumes of aerosols.

... and when politics and COVID interact ...

The Washington Post - New study shows Republican-leaning counties hardest hit in recent weeks

today

A long-feared autumnal rise of infections and serious illnesses has in recent weeks been strikingly pronounced in Republican-leaning counties, according to a new analysis of health data from Harvard University researchers.

The research shows that “red” counties with the most intense leanings toward Republicans have had the largest recent increases in cases, while “blue” counties that lean Democratic have tended recently to be flat.

The Harvard professors suspect that the Republican-leaning communities have been less inclined to follow public health guidance, including recommendations about mask-wearing and social distancing.

It remains unclear whether the 17 travellers have been allowed to stay in Melbourne or if they have been sent back to Sydney, where they would be required to isolate for 14 days.

Just watching the ABC Tv feed from Daniel Andrews : no one knows where the 17 kiwi`s are in Melbourne or who they are, they are waiting to get the departure cards from border security. Unfortunatly  Victoria is not part of the NZ/Aus travel bubble. When the authorities know where the people are then they will be contacted as to what to do in Victoria, I.e. mask wearing and social distancing etc.

They haven't broken any laws just a federation stuff up.
