We should start to see the impact of the Level 4 lockdown in Auckland,

The slowing of places of interest is a good sign.. but given that its delta I can't see the Govt being anything other than over cautious in its level changes...

my guess is we are in for another weekend of Level 4 national wide, with an easing sometime next week. touchwood it will just be Auckland remaining locked down.

If todays numbers are confirmed at 70 or so I reckon that a move to level 3 for the rest of the country is probable. My guess is they'll keep everything at level 4 till midnight Sunday and assuming numbers stay stable/decrease over the weekend we'll see level 3 for everywhere except Auckland and possibly Wellington with level 2 a week or so later. This gives another couple of days over the weekend at level 4 and gives people time to get ready for the new week at a new level. I think, based on current publicly available evidence, the South Island could drop straight to level 2 but for some reason that has been emphatically ruled out.

They say they have always stepped down levels. But there is a difference between the SI outbreak improving and going from 4 to 3. There is no outbreak here. Same applies elsewhere although on the same island is more risk

As far as I am aware we don't exactly know where the waste water is testing positive in Christchurch, of course it's all assumed it's coming from MIQ but just because we have positive tests in waste water in Christchurch the South Island isn't going to go down to level 3 in my honest opinion. Not for at least another week.

I think with the government being extra extra cautious they won't risk a level 3... even if we'll be allowed takeaways at level 3...

I'm wrong!

Level 3 from the south of Auckland!

Only essential works are allowed to cross the boundary and employers will need to apply for an exemption early yet they aren't opening the website until Sunday. 🤨

Northland is included in Auckland due to the Warkworth case.

I assume the army will be there?

Or is this going to be a high trust boundary?

For those that are interested, this is what our vaccine certificates look like in Australia. I had my second dose yesterday and this was available last night.

The left is our Medicare (public health) app. As security measures, the coat of arms in the background moves when you tilt the phone and the tick at the top animates.

The middle is it saved into Google Pay.

Right is Apple Wallet.

Only the Medicare app version has the animation features. And each has all different info - no DOB on Android Pay and no vaccine details on Apple Wallet.

You can also download it as a PDF, or if you ask, they can mail you an offical paper copy.

The Police have been working on the boundary to make sure things flow smoothly and with anyone unable to travel between levels it will be manned.

I think I heard  it right, yesterdays 68 cases, of which 37 were household infections (and no risk according to the PM today) only 10 of the cases yesterday were exposure infections i.e. true CT.

So while we look at these growing numbers, for yesterday the only number of concern is 10.

I'm thinking we need to alter the road infrastructure around Auckland.

Here in the Wairarapa there are several roads that can be closed because of flooding, snow, high wind and so on. There are barriers and matrix signs etc. permanently installed.

I think all the roads exiting Auckland should now have similar installations to shut them down Inn the event of lockdown.

So I want a vote for Aucklanders only. How many of you want all MIQ facilities north of the Bombay Hills closed? The rest of the country can bear the lion’s share of the risk for a change.

And while we’re at it divert the vaccine resources to prioritise the same area north of the Bombays.

Im sick of bearing most of the risk and being the worst affected.

Just consider it another example of the long tradition of the rest of the country's contempt for Auckland. It's nothing new, try not to be surprised by it, it makes it easier to not get angry about it.
