For todays 'stuff that seems it differs to yesterday'
Someone must have been trying it on with mobile units -
If you are a retail business operating in the Alert Level 3 area, you can sell and deliver both essential and non-essential goods to customers in the Alert Level 4 area.
They should stay 2 metres apart from everyone in the home. We recommend having online payment options to minimise physical contact. (legally removed)
Home cleaners can only work to provide support to vulnerable people. (was cannot work)
Stuff has been clarified in rec activities..
Tramping:
Do not go back-country tramping.
MTBing
Do not go on tracks that are grade 3 or above.
Swimming
Do not swim far from shore.
Activities have changed to have a blurb to say you 'should not' from you cannot do specifically.
DS248:
Clearly peaked (as would be expected for L4) but too early to conclude that case numbers will continue to fall as sharply as they have so far.
Thank you, it is at least encouraging. Which a lot of people could use at the moment given how irrational people in the news seem to be becoming, people just want some light at the end of the tunnel I think. I think the mental health fund for covid was a good move by the Govt. Many, usually rational/mentally healthy people will not identify their patterns of thinking as irrational, depressed, anxious etc and just want some quick pick me up news.
Speaking of which, can somebody help me confirm this is official from the UAB (reporter) in the States, Im very wary of contributing to misinformation now (thanks to our GZ chief).
But essentially it repeats the responses my Mrs gave to me on fears I had a few months ago re the speed of the vaccine, long term effects etc, because I didn't have a clue on how vaccines, more so the Pfizer/Biontech, are made and tested. These are the same reasons a lot of people I know, and some of them in their 60s, are not getting vaccinate. ie it was rushed, it hasnt been tested enough, what about the long term etc. Just to add to the rationale, people seem to have no fear about the long term effects or the mortality of commonly used medications, the one my friend, a pharmacist gave me is the birth control.

mattwnz:IMO if they have actually tested positive, there should then be surveillance and extra monitoring around them. I understand Jet Park is far more secure for this reason.
Common misconception with AVers
mRNA studies have been in the lab since as early as 2012/2014
Not just 6 months. But years, of under funded lab tests
Covid-SARS2 comes along. And suddenly there is billions thrown at it. Labs are quadrupled in size. More scientists.
Stuff happens faster.
Like the infinite monkey theory. Throw enough money and resources at stuff. It happens quicker.
Elon is proof of that.

As has happend before with MIFs, if someone wants to really get out - they will, like bed sheet man
Locks keep honest people out.

Not disagreeing but they can't assign one guard per person.

I assume the police were called the moment they found he wasn't in his room - they are not monitoring inside the rooms.
Just on the news that they were notified when a family member in MIQ with him told the MIQ staff he escaped and before that he was in isolation at home and left and when he returned home he was caught by Police that were at his house so was sent to MIQ. They also said the PM knew about the escape before the 13:00 press conference and the DG found out by text during the press conference and it was irresponsible of the Government not to notified the public that a positive case was out in the community twice during the press conference.
DS248:
Update on plot from several days ago (again note these are numbers from the MOH spreadsheet, not the daily briefings. Slightly different as former are per 'Report Date')
Clearly peaked (as would be expected for L4) but too early to conclude that case numbers will continue to fall as sharply as they have so far. In all the other outbreaks in the plot there have been rebounds from initial decreases post-peak. Net trend over the next week or so should be down though providing compliance remains high.
Deliberately left the centre red line in the same location as it was in the original plot.
Need to maintain perspective. Cases will drop as the pre lockdown cases fall off. As do those same pre lockdown that infected the household/flatmates, they will drop off a few tads later. So even if the lockdown was not working very well, cases will drop off, as the household/flatmates cases are free bonuses as they are "1pm cases" but generally are not important. The big issue now that we are disposing of these known and expected cases are the post lockdown cases. That does look good as the other day when we had 500 LOI's, only 21 spawned cases. Of concern is that today there were 38 or so % of cases that were infectious in the community. No deets on that, but some may be flouters, some maybe "winter cold" some may be asymptomatic. But if LOI's seem to cause less than 5% CT, that's a win. Thank you 2 metres and masks. To me the last 2 weeks figures were not relevant as most were non CT cases, now we need to look at true CT cases. It still looks good. If I was infected and I went to the supermarket, the recent LOI data shows that I probably wont be a problem. If I was, lockdown is there to support that. Auckland has another 2 weeks, thats a good amount of smothering.

Remember how we went for the whole "Be kind" / high trust model? This is the result.
You can't "lock people up in prisons" or "put monitoring bracelets on them", our laws don't allow for that.
Also, you understand wrong.
Cant really agree. We have had 160,000+ through MIQ and the escapees for beers etc is VERY low. This stuff always happens, but happily, its very rare here.

Seems six beers for some people is not enough. This is the limits that MIQ allow to be delivered.
We limit delivery of alcohol per adult (18 or over), per day to:
› six 330ml cans of beers (6-9 standard drinks), or
› one bottle of wine (7-8 standard drinks), or
› four pack, up to 330ml each, of RTDs (7-8 standard drinks)
› deliveries of spirits will not be accepted.

Yes, it was rushed, but the effort required was the same just in a smaller time frame. Same deal as a 9-5 business vs a 3 shift 24/7 business.

Quite possibly. Depends if all the info was to hand then, and if the escapee was on the run who knows where or was a short term easy catch, as it was. Imagine if it went viral, but he was picked up in minutes? Better to have all the info and report that, rather than speculate.
My bad, I just read he was out for 12 hours (most of that sleep time) so its not a short term easy catch
Tail upon tail upon tail..
The list also shows a person with Covid-19 was in the community as late as two days ago - on Tuesday afternoon - with a positive case linked to the Countdown Auckland Airport supermarket from 1pm to 2pm.

Yeah. Of the few escapees (cut through wire fence, tied sheets together, etc) I picked the one that escaped, sauntered down to the liquor store for beers and I think he actually walked back! There has been masses upon masses of pets about about the crap MIQ, but match 160,000+ arrivals to the handful of idiots causing trouble.
