I hope you are being sarcastic. I foot is too close. This is how community transmission spreads. New World should be enforcing a two meter separation in the line. Any one how disregards the gap should be bared from entering.

Most people on this forum seem to think that the virus spread is proportional to the number of shops open. It is not. It is proportional to the density of customers. More shops open for essentials -> greater separation of customers -> less spread of the virus.

The warehouse only carries a limited range of groceries. The risk was deemed higher than the benefit of spreading the customers amongst a number of shops.

As is shown above, the stores still haven't got it and aren't controlling the queues outside to a safe separation distance. We should be reporting these unsafe practices to the enforcement agencies as they are putting all of us at risk.

Then a week later, calls all NZers to return home, and DIY isolation. And you get a pamphlet explaining it at the airport, if you're lucky.

Canterbury was used as an example on the news tonight of things to come. It's been a ghost town CBD since Monday.

I was surprised by my attempt to do a sugar/headache stop at the supermarket at the airport today. There still seemed to be fresh imported tourists (sigh) but the limited in/out was in effect and the majority of people got the idea about spacing

I think someone may have even offered an elderly chap to jump forward.

Looks like couriers will not only be delivering essential items. Major move. This means if you are selling things online from you home, and they aren't essential items, there isn't really a way to get it to the buyer

Thinking of crowdsourcing some wooden Clue Bats. Made from a piece of 2x4, turned wooden handle, and the letters "C L U E" embossed into the side. That way you can give someone a clue whenever they say:

"It's only the flu"

"I'm just popping out to the shops for a bit"

Repeat anything Trump says about it

Geektastic: When do you think we needed to close the border to have been the only place entirely free of the virus?

26 Jan would have solved it, in every country in the world. It would have. Thats the view of the hindsight fortune tellers here. And ignore Kiwis. No one dod that, neither did we. Where are we at? 201 cases , isolated. 4 CT's. No deaths. I believe no ICU used. 6 have been hospitalised. We are well ahead of it.

I am sure this has been mentioned in previous posts but the thread is getting pretty long now. What if any plans are in place for the homeless I am sure there are but I cannot see anything being mentioned about them.

Police and the Defence Force were working with agencies to help people in emergency homes and homeless people - and others who may not have a safe place to self-isolate.
