I don't do InstaTwitterBook so don't get to see all that "interesting" stuff.

Good decision. I deactivated my Facebook because of these 'FB online experts'. Too easy to get sucked in and go down a rabbit hole.

This story is fake. There is nothing in the local news about it today or in my local Timaru Herald which often has news covering that area.
Yep my bad, it looks like some of them have just chosen to isolate.
wow terrible fake viral FB/whatsapp forwards/shares are back!
I have a question, is it unreasonable for me to require visitors to my home to wear a mask?
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Nope. If you're immunocompromised then taking extra precautions is reasonable. It's your home - so you have every right to make a rule like that.

Hemi88: I got to say I’m a bit disappointed with some in nz with the misinformation going around it seems American politics is taking hold in nz
Yes - and half the articles in the news are either inaccurate - or misrepresent the situation in some way to sensationalise something relatively trivial. Also reluctance by media to call out dumb politicians who are either telling outright lies or twisting facts to create doubt in the methods that we're using to control C-19. Yet what we are doing requires public confidence in the methods - or we'll doom ourselves.
Seeing some of the half-baked arguments and delusional CT get repeated here at times gives me the screamers.
Seeing someone normally sensible calling for AB to be fired because of CT that he's been "lying to the public" - yet for that to be based on nothing more than gossip and conjecture is an example.
MikeB4:I have a question, is it unreasonable for me to require visitors to my home to wear a mask?
Really, it's the same as asking people to take their shoes off. But with bigger health consequences!
People don't refuse to take their footwear off when asked, if they won't wear a mask if asked don't let them in!

Well that is fantastic if true, but it sounds so good and the article is so sparse in details I'd have to say I'm very sceptical.

Actually mentioning shoes is relevant as if fomite transmission is a thing, then expelled droplets end up on floors, they transfer to shoes, from there you can infect yourself or others. So taking shoes off outside - and washing your hands immediately with hand sanitiser seems sensible.
