Again not hating on Tesla. This video just posted

Here's an interesting situation: who gets the ticket when a driverless Tesla runs a stop sign in a parking lot when summoned, and gets pulled over by cops?

Most parking lots in NZ private property. Don't bother calling the police unless someone is injured or killed. They don't want to know.

But the person controlling the car is always responsible.

SumnerBoy:

Anyone else here running TeslaUsb? I have a little Raspberry Pi Zero hidden under my center console, plugged into a spare USB port. When my M3 arrives home it automatically uploads all new clips from the dashcam or Sentry Mode to my NAS. Works very well and has already been updated for V10 so it includes the rear camera view (alongside the front, left, right). Means I don't ever have to remember to take a thumb drive out and download the clips.

Next is to write a script to scan for new content and run tesla_dashcam on the clips. That tool combines the one minute clips from all 4 camera feeds into a single multi-min video with all views shown. It has all sorts of options, like different layouts for the 4 camera views, speed-up, even shorten (where it removes duplicate frames to shrink footage).

Pretty awesome what the Tesla community has come up with already!

My boss has this setup now and is loving it - soon as he parks the car, it uploads his clips, and he found he can throw his music/videos onto his NAS and they get auto loaded to the car as well :)

Spotted a white M3 passing through main street near home. Not sure yet if it was a local or visiting.

Mine is cheaper. It's actually Long Range. So 18" wheels (I preferred!!) and one of the two motors is slightly less powerful (which might be software set). Otherwise, identical.

Not quite identical then ;)

The performance model in the listing has bigger brakes, bigger wheels, lower suspension, and a teeny spoiler on the boot. Software wise, it has track mode and it has the 3.4s 0-100 performance vs the 4.6s 0-100 of the LR model.

Looking at that advert and the other similar cars listed even at second hand prices they are far far too expensive for this poor Kiwi. People like me will be buying ICE vehicles for a while yet.
