Was confused between the Sony 55” Ultra High Definition 3D SMART LED for $1500 at Noel Leeming

and

Sony 50" at JB Hifi for $690.
http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/tv-lcd-led-plasma/sony/50-inch-full-hd-smart-led-lcd-tv-sku-282086/

Sony is more than double the price but is UHD, 5" bigger and 3D but now that the JB Hifi TV is out of stock I regret not getting it as I don't think I need the extra's with the NL TV.

:-( , Hope we get a similar in store deal tomorrow.

Which Sony UHD is that price at Noel Leeming?
http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/event/big-sale/lg-55-4k-ultra-hd-smart-led-lcd-tv.html is an LG smart TV UHD for $1497 at Harvey Norman. The 49" one is $1088 which I'm tempted to go with since I've missed the Sony as well. But then there's also the Sony 48" smart tv (not UHD) at The Warehouse for $699: http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/catalog/product/Sony-Bravia-48-inch-Full-HD-LED-LCD-Smart-TV-KDL48W600B;pgid=5V5knHqDZahSR0m6SrAKYk600000rEJBcREg;sid=9XpMkAXFewVKkFFeo7BTmhRpmX6Ax8-2Mpk=?SKU=1953016

Hmm

The Sony at Noel leeming is KD55X8500B. I guess it would be a better buy than the 55" LG UHD at Harvey Norman since the sony is 3D as well and same price.

Since I've missed the Sony. I am also confused between the 3 that you are considering.

Thanks. Tough decisions :) haha. The KD55X8500B would be a good deal at that price. Can't find the link though.

I'm only going to entertain 70" 4k as the next upgrade from the 55 1080 screen.

Im after a 1/2TB Drive.

Can anybody recommend me one? Suppose my maximum is around $100, don't really want to be spending much more than that.

Thanks

what format plays uhd? is it really worth twice the price minimum?

i can understand ultra wide on monitors but not 4k tvs

either way 40" 1080 for $480 sounds reasonable.

But sometimes you can't even get a decent 55" Sony TV for $1499. Plus, there's probably heaps of UHD shows on the internet, if you can find them! :-)

Actually they're is very little 4k content on the Internet outside of YouTube :) it's quite surprising. Since all the 4k content is steamed you have a much lower bitrate than bluray so there is actually very little difference in quality and you could easily argue that 1080p bluray is better than most of the 4k content available.
