So, engines need to be even this season. Force India have been given a software update which adds engine mode(s). How is that even? It might be even for them now, hence quali result, but clearly all Mercedes engines are equal but some are more equal than others.

I'm not worried that engines need to be even. But the fact that you can only use 3 engines/gearbox? all year.

Wild ride this race, windy and gusts to 80kph. Kimi slides in the lap to the grid lineup, LeClerc uses a run off also due to wind affecting the car.

Cars not even lined up yet

Pretty sure this has been standard practice for a while, the engines supplied to other teams have to be the same specs as whats supplied to the main team, but the software has never been covered by that requirement.  It's not just Mercedes either.  Force India must have stumped up some cash to get access to those modes.

Crazy, long, race, everything I expect from Baku and more.

Crazy stuff, same engine but toned down, the dumbest loophole ever

Became a yawnfest, and watching stupid Max slow down the RBR team, then he moves twice and causes a crash. DiResta saw that as it happened, the others say racing incident. Stewards say Max started it due to double movement but that Danny Ricc was also at fault. I blame Max. You cant move right to defend, then turn left to defend the gap you chose to open. As per the other few times he has done the same thing. He is not a team racer

Then they threw the lotto balls and chose the result!

I didnt get to see much motor racing the last week, been in the SI lakes area, brrrrrr.

But I did have one night of some lovely Emmersons straight from the brewery via a mate, a dozen bluff oysters, a warm central heated room and king bed, and lied back in bed indulging whilst watching the E1.

Damn I didnt realise how exciting these machines cane be.

Has anyone been an avid E1 watcher? I think I might be from now on. Will always watch F1, but the E1 has a future imo.

Again, not having 2 cars in front cost Ferrari dearly.

Having said that, from purely entertainment point of view, there were a few interesting bits.

Seb could have stayed out a bit longer I thought, there was no need to pit when he did. But I always seem to know more than the entire Ferrari team knows.

I assumed he means Formula E.

I've been watching since the start of season 1, but I have missed a few races over time (their calendar isn't very regular).  Very often its exciting close racing.

How does Formula E work - do they install loud speakers behind their cars to generate noise?

From in car shots you hear the whine of the electric engine and the stones hitting the underside the of the car.

Edit: No idea what it sounds like in real life.

I watched a race a couple of years ago, not impressed. Narrow track especially. Watched a trace last week, not impressed, but I will persevere.

sadly no option to pay to watch it live (as was expected), will have to stick to the alternative methods.
