Ragnor:

FIA said its minor? IIRC it was about salaries, not 100% sure. But if your are a Lewis fan....

There will always be grey areas in any accounting I'm sure, but it's all speculation until they actually come out with the details.

Apparently they are saying that RB didn't count their staff canteen/catering into their overall costs to run the team. So not directly related to R&D. I guess from next year all staff from all teams will be packing their own lunch.

Honestly the UK media have really gone after this story, and Toto's whinging is becoming tiresome.

All teams knew full well the first year was partially a trial run. Mercedes are just sour they botched their '22 car bigtime and had a rookie overshadowing their #1 driver for the first half of the season (the drop off their seems odd, perhaps that's a bigger story).

Apparently RBR sees Newey as contractor, whereas FIA say he's an employee.

also appears he has nothing to do with car development ... must be one of the chef

Ever seen the top of a potato-top savoury pie? Those curves have be the result of some sort of genius. I think we know who now.

Second half of the race was great. First half (other than the mentioned first corner) was a little dull but came alive after the first safety car.

NZ friendly hours was a nice Labour Day treat too.

It was good to see the main drivers close for a lot of the race. Imagine if Sergio and Carlos were where they would normally be on the grid. Good to see Mercedes closer. Early days but they might just have passed Ferrari

Wonder if Lance will get a bunch of penalty points added to his super licence. That swerve at the last minute was reckless. Lucky Alonso didn't take off.

Boo. Alonso has been given a time penalty retrospectively for driving with damage which pushed him out of the points.

Looking at the Constructors standings, Mercedes are not that far from Ferrari. Given that Mercedes were poor by their standards and not competitive, and that Ferrari started the season off by being totally dominant, how things can change. Blame that on Ferrari poor race management and driver errors. Mercedes slowly improved, although still a mile from being a race winning chance, but they got the maximum out of most races. Going by last weekend, its quite possible that Mercedes will out point Ferrari in the last 3 races. In many ways they deserve it

George did spin Sainz, so that helped a bit too.

well if Ferrari can get their cars to launch properly just once in an entire year ...

destroy cars - time penalty

push cars off - time penalty

drive off track - time penalty

overspend by a couple millions - time penalty, probably

driving around after a crash (apparently nothing specific was mentioned) - time penalty https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/149997/thirty-second-time-penalty-for-alonso-stewards-are-shocked.html
