All Brisbane’s origin stars will be rested. So odds have pushed the wahs to favourites now.

Sadly based on form they will probably lose now.

Yep one of the weakest Broncos teams in quite some time. Interesting to see "Sailor" play at FB. Our own NZ centre Jesse arthars, somebody I thought we should have sort to sign, but our centres are much better covered now, its our second string Wings that are our weakpoint in the backline.

Broncos still have Staggs, Cobbo, Mam and Marty Taupau.

Its not raiining, Warriors rightly should be favourites. You gotta know, when you get knocked down, "you get back up again".

Intensity from the whistle, not creating penalties and chance your arm on the 5th inside their 40 now and again, including contesting the bomb, contest that dang bomb as it turns it into a 50/50 chance for error or getting the back.

Edit: last nights game was a ripper, stayed up for it, the Sharks look weak. Unfortunately its not great for the 8 for us for the Doggies to win, but that kicker has a 60m drop kick. Finally one went inside the post not just outside, in golden point.

geeeze that was a heck of a take to grab a greasy ball one hands from behind him to score. But TMM already looking better at 7 than 6.

edit: the reason I dont rate Pompey is simply because he does not know how to set the Winger up or when to pass, he holds the ball way to long. Hes great on defense and a handy goal kicker, but stops tries on the left.

TMM has the vision of SJ, but he lacks the accuracy in his ball skills. Still, fun to see him throw it around. almost like coach isnt as tough on him as with SJ for not sticking to the percentage plays.

CHT has been great at 6 in each game hes played.

Ugggh Pompey misses the conversion. It feels so often like when something small goes against us the floodgates open. Soon after Walker drops it on the 50, then Broncos score in their set.

Edit: DWZ going for the intercept play again instead of sticking to his man enabled that Cobbo run and he did it earlier. Its a real bug bare, low % defense.

TMM kicking on the fourth, this is what ive been asking for. Last year SJ was executing what was in front of him, which is what a good 7 does, this year it feels like hes had that vision coached out of him to look to execute % plays. Where TMM doesnt seem to care and plays what he sees, when hes at 7, I wish he would do it at 6.

Why is Barnett our only big man to offload. Tohu use to lead the league when he was at Melb. aFB has been known for the offload. That try from lussick just shows whether its a try or an extra ten metres, when its on, it on.

Lussick has put some obvious muscle on like most of our halves/9s, Egan has remained relatively small, but hes tough.

Edit: I called Webbys Brain, post match interview TMM saying hes told these two halves to play whats in front of them. He needs to give SJ when he returns the same kind of "release" as he imo is the best half at adlib football ala last year. This % play is not his game. Of course you have to earn that by doing the hard yards in your own half first and forcing an error etc in theirs.

Xavier Willison, wow, hard runner. Epic game for the Broncos, big future, I hope the Warriors make a play for him to come home and join us. Broncos have depth of their own.

BIG games this arvo and we ideally need Manly to lose next week with us both on 15pts.

Dragons v Dolphins, Dragons lose they stay on 14, Dolphin win they go from 16-18pts. Normally I would say Dolphins to put Warriors ahead of Dragons. But puts Dolphins out of the 7-8 win bunch at the moment.

Panthers v Cowboys, id think most Panthers will back up SoO game, keeping Cowboys to 16pts (8wins).

Last Game Roosters vs Tigers, Roosters should blow them off the park, Roosters being the most in form and best for and against by a big margin this year,  after a weak start t the comp they have been on fire for the last eleven o so rounds. This win will put them to 10 wins, 2nd on the table and if Melb start dropping some of these close matches they have had or having, I can see Roosters romping home to Minor Premiers.

We play Doggies next week, huge game for both, Doggies wanting to stretch out to 9 wins, Warriors possibly rejoining the 8 with 8W-D (17pts)

That same day, Manly play the Cowboys in Townsville who if lose today, will be on fire next week with Origin players all back for sure looking to put a sharp game on, which could see the Warriors skip ahead of the current lock wit Manly both on 7 Wn 1D

Plenty of rounds to go and with such a tight comp Im saying everyone from 4th to 13th with plenty of chances to make massive strides up the ladder with a blanket covering them and 9 or 10 (depending on the bye) playing rounds left to go.

I really do hate the Table with Byes included, but the reality is you cant say for sure where teams are until to each other in another month or so.

Ideally the Warriors need 6/9. However due to that draw and the 1 point, they could in theory scratch in on 5/9

If Warriors can go on a run and win the next 3 or 4, anything is possible, although SJ comes back and at regardless of being the better halves, these two current halves have better chemistry. Personally I would still play SJ but make HIM the running back and let TMM manage the game from Egans super quick feeds. However I would tell SJ, the same as these two, license to play whats in front of you, because there is no better adlib halve in the game. CHT remains at 14 which is the player on the bench who can play any position and quite often plays multiple positions in one game.

How good, League is gaining traction in the US, Im even seeing more US youtubers "reaction" weekly videos to teams they like. Hopefully we ace it and gain some US supporters.

NRL Vegas: Warriors confirmed to open 2025 season at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas - NZ Herald

In other news, its getting to that time of year for swaps or nots with the list of off contract players in the NRL, being a lot bigger than I expected. Some teams like the Dolphins with 10 off contracts, most of their offense so I dont know who Benz has signed for next year.

Just glancing the list, no real Marques players, although Jordan Rapana and Josh Papalii are very high quality, Corey Oates, Kyle Fieldt. But if CHT and TMM keep this up, there really isnt a spot open in the Warriors even in second string, we have seen our team win nearly half the first half of the season off the back of our second string players quite a lot.

To be fair I havnt gone through the list thoroughly yet. The only weakness I see is our left edge/wing with Pompey and Montoya. I thought Pompey was meant to be our second string Centre. Montoya is not getting enough ball to the point I wonder if puttng Metcalf on that wing for speed and bringing Montoya into Centre could be an option. Or make a play for Jordan Rapana (Raid) and Corey Oates (Bris)

Wakrak:

Chad Townsend signs with the Roosters for 2025

Yeh, I think its a solid signing. Hes been 4 systems, will be his 5th, learnt a lot at the Warriors. Hes kind of like an older TMM, been around, is pretty good at most things but not great at any, hes no fancy stepping Marquees half, but solid. Sometimes if you got a good running HB, thats all you need.... Bit surprised Cowboys let him walk.....

Laurie resigns with Penrith, doh haha. No surprise.

On serious note I don't think we will be looking for anyone else next year. This squad is not the problem, its icing those close games in such a close comp that is, which last year SJ was phenomenal. If we win our next 3 games under TMM/CHT halves, Im not sure what will happen with SJ. But I suspect Webby knows, a fit and firing SJ is our best chance at a Prem. The question then would be, do you keep CHT on at 6 who has all the skills of a 7 but takes the line on, and push TMM to 14. Or you stick with TMM at 6. Fascinating weeks ahead.

However if SJ cant deliver, Webby might be back to that TMM/CHT combo.

This season it's been Te Maire Martin > SJ.

It's time for Webby to make the hard decision and drop SJ.

yeh, Im not as concerned anymore as TMM has shown he can play 7. It was worrying when he was playing 6. I dont know if its for both SJ and TMM, they dont have the running back in them to step inside the line, SJ just seems lost this year, but stepping off an achilles injury would create head games. But then CNK steps up and was our best 6 so far this year and subsequently CHT has also been a draw and pass ball runner who will also take the line on with his step. I still think RTS is wasted in centre with his 9/10 abilities in all facets of the game outside kicking. We got a rookie for our NSW cup, in Jet Cleary next year, so Metcalf may end up playing 7 in NSW cup until he gets a shot again.

Big game today, ex Penrith assistant coaches under Cleary, Webby vs Ciraldo. Warriors win and the leapfrog up the ladder with that 1pt for the Manly draw, overtaking all the guys on 8 wins.

Bad timing to lose our captain Tohu, wrist injury, it sounds serious. Not the forward you want to lose. another Otahuhu lad making debut in Halasima. Not a huge guy in height or weight but hes only 18yo so plenty of time to stack tend kegs on him.

Titans won again beating 2nd place Sharks, what is going on with our Kiwi half Kieran Foran's dynamic form. Two tries and a lot more to go with it.

and Panthers beating the Broncs who are now out of the 8 with only 7 wins.

So, a lot to play for. Draw and pass Pompey, dont just run and pass to late. Missing Berry as well, forgot.

THAT Try front on, watch RTS, that is what I expect from Pompey, Draw THEN pass. Its what you expect from all your good ball players, halves especially. Just a little frustration of mine on the other side. Very hand second string centre on defense though.

Edit: and immediately Pompey just runs straight, no shape. Montoya gets the ball and says Ill do it all myself with pure power crash play.

3 long kicks and a failure to kick a penalty out from TMM today. Its a BIG part of 7.

15min to go and down 3 players. Cant catch a break with injuries this year. Warriors clearly fatigued.

Edit: Warriors should have had a penalty in front of the sticks, TMM was taken out HIGH absurdly late without the ball. How on earth did the Bunker miss that.......?

edit: Ugggh CHT nailed that but the charge down effort by doggies just touched it to push it wide haha. Nuts. Burton hits post on his first, then goes under post on second droppy.

edit: Off the post and in. But go back to the high shot on TMM and Warriors win, not a 50/50.

Corageous Warriors playing 3 down, that is not easy in RL playing with 14.

Lesson learnt CHT needs to take all the kicks, accurate long bombs and the clearance length.

Sums up the Warriors season with these one try or less losses this year. Hard to ice those one though. Sad to lose, but proud of all the team with that effort.

Bit of a crazy game. Both sides made a lot of mistakes, either side or both, could have added good points but they didnt.

Overlooking that late dangerous tackle to TMM's face was atrocious. That was a dead set penalty, bin and a kick to win it for the Wahs. I don't want to blame the ref for that loss but man it's hard not to think that way when they constantly have these calls not go their way.
