Yeah I cant agree with you either, we definitely are performing at 50% of our potential vs India, finishing a game bowled out with 10 overs remaining only needing 9rpo is ridiculous. They didnt bowl well. We played stupid shots on a wicket that is 350+, India scored a very gettable total. If we dont win the next game at the mount it better be because we were bowled out not because we hit balls down the throat of the opposition.
Anyway the West Indies absolutely spanking Eng in the test was awesome for them. SA play Pak again in ODI tonight and only just won the prior game. The WC is going to be very interesting with the top 6 teams being able to beat any of the other 6 teams on any given day. Due to the nature of how the comp is being run its garunteed the top 4 will play the semi finals. I think NZ have a very good chance of the top 4 and potentially winning with our top 11, not this Ind series we are using to find our top 11. Once at the Semis, a team only has to play to their full potential to win the world cup, so I like the system. Eng will very much suit our style of bowling and it provides turn for spin as well. Im expecting Neesham, Southee, Sodhi, Fergusson/Henry Boult will make the bulk of our bowling, provided Neesham is fit in time, I dont think his injury is expected to take that long to heal. Henry is a great accurate bowler with a good average and he is probably as good as Southee if not more consistent with the bat. So its not a bad tail. Another all rounder could see the batting depth increased, but I think if we fail its due to the top/middle having a bad one. Where we need top bowlers to either contain or take wickets, so for me Bracewell and Munro just arent good options, unless Bracewell continues to show form with the bat (improving is original Avg of 8 lol), and taking wickets with the ball, he use to be not above average with either, now he seems like a genuine all rounder over night, where Colin has gone from being a Genuine all rounder to not being above average with either. Santner might sneak in if he is given another chance and takes it with both hands. I think there is one spot left which is whether they go with an all rounder or a genuine bowler (Henry), I think Fergusson is already a certainty, Henry is hard to leave out, but Bracewells performance in the T20 and last night he is making an argument for his inclusion in the squad. As long as we bat to Avg of 30+ to 7, Im happy, and all bowlers Avg below 30. So 8 could be open for Bracewell/Santner/Colin, but I think they already have 1 of the 3 in the squad.
