I still don't understand why Williamson wouldn't have reviewed Taylor's call given it hit him above the knee roll.

That just shocked me. Even on the front knee roll that far out. As Doull said if you hit them and its going down the ball wont fling up in the air like it did, it was clearly going over the top, live I just thought, oh they will just review it. What was Kane thinking, he doesnt lose a call in that situation if he gets it wrong so he had nothing to lose, which we didnt need the decision anyway in the end. Irritating.

I also think Kane should have kept Henry and Boult on for 10 overs each like the first game even if it meant only 2 more wickets, but likely at 30-4 they would have crumbled.

Stead is just beyond vocabulary. He clearly is either not telling Munro what he wants or Munro isnt listening which no person who wants to keep their spot would do.

Now Larsen will probably pick a totally s... team for the world cup all off the back of making players uncertain. Even Southee speaking yesterday sounded dejected. Ok hes been in a form slump recently, but he also has his brilliant days, more so in red ball cricket, but they should be swinging the ball in Eng, no swing there no swingers anywhere lol.

Nichols for me is just too timid in ODIs or T20s, hes a very technical player without the finese and eye of williamson or taylor., I dont know why we arent playing BJ Watling who is a much better keeper than Tom.

Nichols according to Cricbuzz ODI stats are identical to Latham so are good. Watling has a lower high score, lower average and lower SR than Latham

Nichols hasn't been given time this time round they need to lock him in and avoid players -playing every now and then then choosing or discarding. Watling is a better keeper but Latham is near enough.

The reason Id put Watling in the squad is because we need a wicket keeper, we were blessed to have Mccullum who gave up the gloves, we no longer have a real full time wicket keeper, ie one who will stand up to the wickets for medium pacers which most genuine keepers do. im not saying reaplce tom or anyone im saying we shouldnt go to eng with no back up keeper (Nichols is it supposedly lol).

Tom is consistent at about 30 runs each over, nichols has hot trots then long low trots, he hit that 1 century 11 innings ago and has starts since then, very similar to Munro actually, just at half the speed lol. I feel we need to start looking at specialist batsman in the ODI game.

And if NZ wants to know how building an innings, Perth put on only 70/1 off 10 overs,  i think they were about 105 at 14 overs and finished with 175ish.

Conversely Mccullums team chased down 180 in 18.2 overs, he played second fiddle just tapping it for ones feeding Brenshaw, 90 runs SR180. Im not sure if any of the other Bash Bros as they are known over there are eligible to play for NZ. I wish Cris Lynn was a kiwi though haha. Hes the highest scoring BBL player ever and he got out for 0 last night and is only 28. Vetorri is the coach, the Stars lost last not to Perth and if Brisbane Beat the Melbourne Stars in the next game the could still make the finals if Stars lose there last game against the Sydney 6rs I think.

use espcricinfo if you want to make really specific searches, like narrow the time of a persons career to a certain point.

Im not for dropping Nichols, but we do need big hitters who can bring us home, Nesham looked SOO in control last night, even the indian commentators mentioned it, until the spinner went out for lbw and he must have thought the ball was dribbling down field as he gazed at santner, then he looked round and it was in MS dhoni hand without a glove (he sometimes keeps with just one glove for this reason) and his underarms dont miss the wickets. Thats why I think Munro down the order makes so much sense, him and Nesham together could be hectic. We would still get a good start from Tom and Guptil would feel more settled and able to hit 6s when he felt naturally to. not because Stead says he must.

If you want specialist batsmen, you would be firing Munro and CDG. They can bat and they can bat big, but we want it frequently not rarely

Dunno if the communication is there between those two.

I'd go for Nicholls and Guptill, with the express instruction they are to bat out the first 20, run rate be damned.

Then you'd have Williamson, Taylor, etc.

Yes either Nichols or Latham, both similar players, but you dont want your keeper potentially in stinking hot conditions in the field most of the day, thats the main reason they bat down the order other Latham would be the choice for me simply because hes got a good eye and opens well in the test team.

No way Kane will go to open. The best batsman in the team always plays 3, always has, always will.

Munro down the line to 6 an Nesham to 7.

Part of our problem is our team is falling into "Fleming" mode, ie its all one style of cricketer. in ODIs you need guys who can at will steer a team home down the order. We had that with Colin, well he did a bit more than that in some matches, but his form is sour, but I still think he deserves a spot in squad, Nesham is definitely in form with the bat.

That staggered style of batsman is what need. You want a ball belter paired with a ball fiddler lol every second man ideally, Id put Taylor between the two styles, maybe Kane as well

So Id like and Stead to recognise the first 10 over thing aint going to work, heck India didnt even play their best/worlds best bowler in this series. You cant be slashing at bad balls until your eyes are in and thats munros down fall, he sees a nice juicey high wide and drags it on somehow, instead of just letting it go, so hes in the wrong position for ODIs, for T20s hes in the right position.

Guptil
Nichols
Williamson
Taylor
Latham
Munro
Nesham
Henry
Southee
Fergusson
Boult

Santner, Sodhi, Watling, Colin D in the squad, they wont pick watling which could be hazardous if Tom cant play a game which is highly possible. Id like to say Astle but thats 3 spinners. Bracewell. Hmmmm. Im in the same spot I was in pre Indian series. It hasnt done anything but Identify the first 10 over plan fails, 300 every game fails, and Munro needs to bat down the order to help out when the 10rpo chase is on and the ball is not moving around.

I was looking at fast-fast bowlers and I didnt realise Starc hadnt bowled over 150kph, and his average speed is quite low. But Brett Lee and Shaun Tait now they are in the top 10 fastest all time. Ahktar still holding on by 0.1 and smidge over 161. I dont think there are any consistent 150kph+ bowlers in world cricket at the moment. Both Fergusson and Milne are quick, but Milne is always injured, probably because bowls consistently quicker.

Lockie Fergusson and Indias Bumra both can bowl around 154kph. Both over between 140 and 150 but usually 146 is the normal pace in Rhythm. So Id like Fergusson to learn something from watching Bumra, so would I actually. Why he is so good. He has a very low impact smooth rhythm in his action, and he keeps his head dead still looking upright the whole way through. But I want to know his strategy is, is it simple line and length which a proven formula....

One or two things I have noticed about Bumrah

1. He bowls a high percentage of yorkers

2. He bowls wide of the crease when hes trying to beat the bat and hit the stumps

Hes just incredibly accurate and I think his low average might be in line with his economy. He certainly is my kind of bowler, hits the stumps a lot, none of this lbw rubbish lol, no he does get them but he does hit the wickets a lot.

By the way Boult must be in form as he bowled above 140 yesterday and we havnt seen that since Shane Bone was bowling coach and the 2011 WC.

That would work. The key is no Munro to ruin the setting of a platform. And that stops guppy trying to pluck runs from nowhere to catch up

Well we are missing a spare keeper for the world cup and we also need someone at 6/7 who can bat it home, I think Seifert could be ideal. Imagine if you could fit Munro, Seifert, Neesham in that late middle order, boy that would be fun.

Fergussion, Sodhi, Santner all bowled well.

What impressed me from Southee, Fergusson and Mithchel was the Seam presentation, beautifuly straight or swinging but not wobbling, thats all you have to do to take wickets. Fergusson was very unlucky not to pick up a wicket in that last over where the ball was missed 3 times, 2 times missing the stumps by cm's.
