Not sure upgrading is going to be worth it for me at the moment, 4k/etc is basically limited to Apple TV and Roku devices per https://support.formula1.com/s/article/4K-UHD-HDR?language=en_US unless something changes with the way they count devices as streams (my reading is Pro should at least allow multiple streams on the single device), I think I'll be passing on the update for now.

Well that's crap.  I run Google TVs so yeah there is no point if 4K isn't available on those devices.  Good job it was greyed out and I couldn't upgrade otherwise I would ahve been stuck.  They really need to stick this on their page with the different sub levels...going to cause confusion!

Oh boy that's a great point and catch there too.

I run the app on my newish Sony TV X95l.  If that can't show 4k then I'm not interested.

Would have an option to chromecast from an iPhone, but my last TV at least didn't work very well like this - was laggy/stuttered.
Also option for Xbox Series X or cast tab from Windows PC etc.
None of which appeals compared to just native.

So are they removing multiple 1080p concurrent streams/devices from pro, if so that garbo.

Will be a bit narked if that's the case given my slightly delayed F1 TV Pro renewal confirms I can use it on 6 devices.

It doesn’t matter if you subscribed months ago or tomorrow. The terms always said 1 device live. given how much they’ve botched this release I wouldn’t really worry about them trying to limit devices for a wee while lol.

Am not feeling it for a Sony TV running the official F1 app on it's native Google TV OS?

That is correct, currently no android device can activate the 4k functions being provided in Premium - unless you have an ATV or Roku then its not worth it as not even the web is enabled for 4K.

Well, my eyeballs stopped being 4K-capable several years ago so I determined the cost-benefit was not worth it to upgrade to Premium. I've got the F1TV app on my Nvidia Shield running into the TV in the living room, as well as on my Android phone, and that should be more than adequate for my needs.

Settings are showing the two devices as loaded, along with the statement that up to six devices can be used at one time. Given most races take place at unsociable hours for us, I can't see a scenario whereby the simultaneous use of six devices running might be useful to me. Unless I was intending to share my account with other users in the house (or another house?).

So long as I am able to access live timing on a laptop on those occasions I can be bothered with that while watching races on the telly, I'm pretty happy.

I bought a new TV this year. Funnily enough the Chromecast has only been kept for the F1 app. TV does everything else.

I’m halfway through the new Drive to Survive. Sooo good, we knew it was going to be good after such a great & close racing season last year.

The Frenemies episode in particular between Lando & Max was great!

the elbows out episode was good to , it was interesting to see how close Liam was to max in the testing times , 2 10ths a second slower a lap than max and he hadn't been in a car for 7 months , the engineers were impressed.

Common sense is not as common as you think.
