Saying that the virus will miraculously disappear in April
Saying the US has the most test, the best tests

Seems unlikely, that ascribes far too much intelligence and planning ability to him. He's delusional, not machiavellian. The economy will only keep going up and up and up while he's in charge, so nothing to worry about, and certainly no need to do anything like that.

If he's got a highly diverse portfolio he's probably got at least some interest in everything imaginable. It wouldn't surprise me if many Kiwisaver participants have a small personal financial interest in Sanofi via some fund or other. This is almost certainly conicidence. Remember, he's a delusional narcissist, what he's worried about is his image, not a 0.003% stake in the company. If he can make it go away by promising a miracle cure, he's won.

Having the Trump supporters leap from one conspiracy theory to the next is bad enough, we don't have to copy them.

In the middle of a pandemic. Words, as usual where he is concerned. fail me.

I've seen that too, I use my Trump-fan friend (who is actually a really nice person, just fell into the rabbit hole some time ago) as a litmus test and they just posted a long screed about how heads must roll at the WHO and their director-general must burn. Which is a pretty good indicator that Trump and Fox have recently started attacking the WHO in an attempt to divert blame.

It makes it easier, and Tedros is an obvious target for him, but he's really attacking the institution as a whole in order to shift blame. Just to give some background on Tedros:

He trained 40,000 female health workers, improved laboratories, created ambulance fleets and multiplied medical school graduates tenfold. Deaths from AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, as well as deaths of young children and women in childbirth, fell by more than 50 percent

He did all this in Ethiopia. No wonder they made him head of the WHO.

Trump’s allergy to the written word and his reliance on oral communication have proven liabilities in office.

Ironically, it was the publication of a book this week that crystallized the reality of just how little Donald Trump reads. While, like many of the tendencies described in Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury, Trump’s indifference to the printed word has been apparent for some time, the depth and implications of Trump’s strong preference for oral communication over the written word demand closer examination.

“He didn’t process information in any conventional sense,” Wolff writes. “He didn’t read. He didn’t really even skim. Some believed that for all practical purposes he was no more than semi-literate.”

Wolff quotes economic adviser Gary Cohn writing in an email: “It’s worse than you can imagine … Trump won’t read anything—not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers, nothing. He gets up halfway through meetings with world leaders because he is bored.”

While Trump and his allies, as well as some mainstream journalists, have attacked the accuracy of Wolff’s book, Trump’s allergy to reading is among the most fully corroborated assertions Fire and Fury makes.

Ahead of the election, the editors of this magazine wrote that the Republican candidate “appears not to read.” Before the inauguration, Trump told Axios, “I like bullets or I like as little as possible. I don't need, you know, 200-page reports on something that can be handled on a page. That I can tell you.” In February,
