I only just got around to viewing the videos on this page. I actually don't like (YouTube) videos, unless they have some intrinsic value that text alone cannot convey. For example, watching Trump score another own goal, or laughing at a late-night comedian. Those have value. For the rest, I prefer to get my information from reading. Videos tend to go in one ear and out the other without much sticking on the way. I see them as part of the general dumbing-down process that gets people like Trump elected president. 

 

I am posting my comment here because this video in particular wasted my time. It is just gossip and I don't see what relevance it has to anything. I don't mean this as a general criticism of this member's posts. Nearly everything he posts on this thread, including the videos, is worthwhile. But this one is not.

The New York Times - Trump, who has railed against voter fraud, suggests that people vote twice

President Trump on Wednesday suggested that people in North Carolina stress-test the security of their elections systems by voting twice - an act that constitutes the kind of voter fraud the president has railed against.

 

Mr. Trump made the comment when asked by a reporter about his faith in the state’s system for voting by mail, which is expected to be used more widely in the November election than in previous years because of concerns about the spread of the coronavirus.

 

Mr. Trump encouraged people to send in an absentee ballot and to then go vote in person.

 

“Let them send it in and let them go vote, and if their system’s as good as they say it is, then obviously they won’t be able to vote,” Mr. Trump said ... in remarks that were broadcast on MSNBC.

 

It is illegal to vote more than once in an election.

I posted it because a lot of news is rehashed, and I hadn't heard of this new book "Melania and Me"

We're known by the friends we keep, so I wouldn't expect Melania friends to be less vacuous, shallow, and uncaring.

This article has some takeaways. Again pretty superficial.

The first lady really doesn’t care.

Mrs. Trump launched Operation Block Ivanka to make sure the president’s older daughter didn’t steal the spotlight at the inauguration. Wolkoff and her team orchestrated seating and studied camera angles to make sure Ivanka’s face would be hidden in pictures.

The grimace that inspired #FreeMelania? There’s a story behind it. “Melania suddenly frowned and looked down and to her right because Barron had kicked her in the ankle by accident.”

Mrs. Trump demanded renovations to the White House, but didn’t always get her way.

The president won’t eat off a plate that has been touched by a friend.

The first lady voices her opinions to her husband.

Mrs. Trump enjoys “her game of hide-and-seek with the American public.”

The Washington Post - Trump threatens to cut federal funding to ‘lawless’ cities

President Trump has instructed his Justice Department to compile a list of “anarchist jurisdictions,” citing Portland, Ore., Seattle, New York City and Washington, D.C., as examples of places “that have permitted violence and the destruction of property to persist and have refused to undertake reasonable measures to counteract these criminal activities.”

 

Once those are identified, Trump said, he has asked the Office of Management and Budget to see about restricting federal funding to those areas. ...

 


New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D) railed against the president, saying that he was considered a “clown” by New Yorkers and that they were glad he had changed his residence to Florida.

 

Cuomo reportedly said that Trump was so disliked in the city where he was raised and built his brand that he "couldn’t have enough bodyguards to walk through New York City" ...

Definitely a shame. Unfortunately, not unbelievable.

 

I have my own theory about this, based on nothing more than my own personal prejudices. 

 

There is extremism and intolerance on both sides. No question about that. But I believe the extreme right is worse at this moment in history. They want to crush their opponents and rule. The left just wants to be heard. 

 

I think this comes from the fundamentalist evangelical religious element of the right. Fundamentalists are true believers. They are intolerant of any other viewpoint because they are utterly convinced they have god on their side. Anyone else must by definition be evil. This justifies any measure used against them. It is, quite literally, a holy crusade. This attracts those who just like violence. It is a convenient justification for bashing heads in. 

 

People subjected to violent attack will respond in kind. At least some on the left might be willing to talk, but no-one on the other side is interested in listening. So the talk becomes shouting and then turns to violence. This is easily exploited by grifters who lie their way into positions of influence and leadership. It is a downward spiral that ends in tyranny or revolution.

I think that people on the left are very aware of the deterioration of our government and don’t want to see further damage and are very eager for a shift. People on the right, as you just said, are disgruntled and, in many cases, desperate for attention, for job creation, for sustenance in their lives, for an end to the struggles they’ve been feeling. They also want to move on with it, and they just have different ideas on how to do that. They’re expecting that Trump will do it for them.

They’re also supporting someone who seems to be the single biggest cause of a lot of these things.

Is it more helpful to listen to them or to try to provide them with facts that are more correct?

If we try to do the shifting without any listening, it doesn’t work. It’s not possible for people to suddenly wake up and change their minds. Change happens through gradual shifts, and those shifts happen in human relationships across the divides.

The Washington Post - Coronavirus Updates: Do NOT vote twice

The White House denied that President Trump was encouraging voter fraud when he urged people to try voting multiple times - first by mail, then in person. 

 

His comments during Wednesday's visit to North Carolina so alarmed election officials that the state board of elections issued a statement, reminding people that intentionally voting twice is illegal. 

 

Trump tried to walk his remarks back, tweeting this morning that he meant voters should mail in their absentee ballots, then “On Election Day, or Early Voting, go to your Polling Place to see whether or not your Mail In Vote has been Tabulated” and vote only if it hadn't been. 

 

The North Carolina State Board office subsequently warned that this, too, was bad advice, writing that: “It would lead to longer lines and the possibility of spreading COVID-19.”

 

Not to mention obviating the entire point of voting by mail during this pandemic.

Twitter on Thursday slapped warning labels on several of President Donald Trump’s posts, suggesting the messages violated a policy against advocating illegal election activity.

The move is at least the third time that the president’s preferred social media company has placed a “public interest notice” on his posts.

“Our goal is to prevent people from sharing advice about voting twice, which may be illegal,” the company wrote in a tweet, part of a thread explaining its enforcement action.

True - but "patriots" are going to see that, they already believe that Facebook and Twitter are conspiring to silence the POTUS.  They'll click the links to see the tweets, and believing the content was censored by twitter, then it's clearly "very important and therefore must be true".

Yep - they already have their own standards - it's called "idiocy". For those that did not go pass Grade 5 (in America) that is; [ID] + [EE] + [UH] + [SEE] = Trumpists




Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

This Atlantic article is so much in character that its quite believable. 
The Helicopters that could not fly in the rain, and bullet proof cars that could not resist raindrops.
Just diversions from his foiba of his hair not looking good in wind and rain.
