Watching his latest video clip with him talking up his 'wonder drug' yesterday, his hair was perfect, his orangeness freshly touched up - then it dawned on me, he would have instructed hairstylists and orange paint people to work right up next to his head all the time while he is breathing out Covid.

Yet another set of mental gymnastics I could never get my head around. Mike Pence is not a 'traditional religious' type. He's a Mormon; Mormonism is universally recognised as, well, heretical would be the correct word I guess, by mainstream Christianity just like the JWs or the Moonies. Cult would also do. They're way off the reservation even by comparison with the split between Roman Catholics (who pray to Mary) vs. Protestants (who don't). Magic underpants and all.

I guess as with everything else it comes down to the fact he hates the gays and the baby killers.

EDIT: Apparently I was wrong about the Mormonism.

AFAIK Pence isn't a Mormon. He identifies as Catholic / Evangelical.

(Note the Vatican's constant indirect criticism of the POTUS, and direct snubbing of US officials like Pompeo being declined a meeting he'd requested with Vatican officials)

The group wished to gather about "200 men" to storm the capitol building and take hostages, including the governor. They hoped to enact their plan before the November presidential election. If that failed, they planned to attack the governor at her home, officials say.
