She has apparently been associated with devil worship and while that is not specifically a crime, it does not sit well with American voters.

Oh please.  We've had Godwins invoked a couple of times in this thread, but that's truly the silliest thing I've read on GZ for a long time.

Anyways I think this thread has run it's course, at least for me, I pretty much expect the conversation from this point to head the same way all 20+ page political discussions do and end the same way.

Agreed, Initially i was interested in seeing peoples views on who would win and why. Got a bit into detail and then Godwin came out of hiding.

Election has run its course, The subject: The President Of The USA - Who do you think? has been answered.

On a side note, People in the office are having First aid training.

We just heard a whole heap of screams and laughter and concluded the world has come to an end.

Enjoy your Thursday.

That says a lot about the average IQ of Americans!

Emotional intelligence was the problem with America - not IQ.

What happens if he dies before being sworn in, in January? eg a heart attack. Does Hillary as the next highest candidate then win? I wouldn't have thought Pence would be next in line prior to being sworn in, or would he?

I have removed all invocations to Godwin's Law and posters were warned. Do it again from here and it will be an instant ban.

If a winning Presidential candidate dies or becomes incapacitated between the counting of electoral votes in Congress and the inauguration, the Vice President elect will become President, according to Section 3 of the 20th Amendment.

There is pretty much no scenario by which the nominated candidate from the opposing party is elected. There is a chain of people who would take over if both the president-elect and VP-Elect were killed/incapacitated. Because the Republicans have the Senate and House, even more.

yep that's democracy, you get the good you get the bad. If they don't want that then don't live in a democracy.

This time they got the Bad and the Ugly.  Only 2/3 of a spaghetti western.

I've just checked in, it's across the US and shootings

"Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead," she finished, before moving towards the crowd to hug and console her people.

It's actually a pretty good sentiment. I was dead against Trump, but I woke this morning marvelling at what he had managed to achieve. I don't believe (all) his motives are evil or nefarious. I do think he wants America to be better.  His definition of better is different from some of us, but that is the basis by which we have opposition parties.

I think it's reasonable to have an open mind and let the evidence of his Presidency speak for itself.

100%. The way they voted there is widespread discontent. He targeted that. I take back some credit as they themselves were a bit shocked. In the victory speech he said it was a movement not a campaign.

Your sentiments have nailed it.

It's done. What's important now is how will Godzone fare? Short and long term. Same for the US
