I've seen this perception trotted out a lot. You have to be able to sell your policies. A lot of people think it was all down to Jacindamania, that the policies were the same and the only reason Labour went up was because of her.
Look at it from the other angle though, many people liked their policies and agreed with them but didn't like Andrew Little. Of course, if you are voting for National regardless then of course you are going to claim it's all down to the "lipstick on a pig" effect, rather than the policies you support not having as much support as you think.
8.75 years Labour couldn't find a leader to sell their "amazing" policies? You are kidding yourself. I have yet to meet a Labour supporter who could even name 2 policies let alone 3 Labour party candidates apart from JA and Andrew Little.
