SJB:

If you think this election has been characterized by Chump and his supporters terrible behaviour read this article. It's happened more than once before

https://worldhistory.us/american-history/presidential-history/inaugural-absences.php

And in those days the country was much smaller so the impact may have been relatively greater.

Yes but this is 200 years later, we have been to the Moon, landed probes on comets and bringing back the samples, and its still happening?? If you look at a 4yo spitting the dummy and playing up, and extrapolate that to Trump, its unbelievably embarrassing. Most of this sh!tshow is that he could have exited and been a past POTUS, but he backed himself into a corner he cannot exit from with any dignity, so from here on, he has nothing to lose by delaying and baulking normality.

Also more likely than not these widespread accidental miscountings have existed since the first election, with or without technology!

Widespread? Link? There are no widespread miscountings

OMG. Is this like the World War 3 that was predicted when he gained office?

He is an idiot, and he is an American embarrassment, he achieved nothing. That's all he was or ever will be.

The Michigan election lawsuit was one of 30 he launched and was one of 19 already thrown out

Trump tweeted "We withdrew because we won!"

It's like the book 1984's concept of doublespeak, if doublespeak was for dummies.

freitasm:

"Disturbing new details in alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer"

This is what Trump enables.

There is new and disturbing information in the alleged militia plot against the governor of Michigan.

The 14 men charged had far more violent plans than just a kidnapping, according to federal and state authorities.

New filings claim there was a Plan B the militiamen had drawn up, that involved a takeover of the Michigan capitol building by 200 combatants who would stage a week-long series of televised executions of public officials.

And, according to government documents now on file in lower Michigan court, there was also a Plan C -- burning down the state house, leaving no survivors.

The latest accusations include the charged threat that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was to be kidnapped and possibly killed; now government court records cite subplots to stage an armed takeover of the state capitol in Lansing and televise the executions of politicians.

That is absolutely frightening. I can picture the orange buffoon watching from in the White House, cheering on the losers doing that, tweeting furiously about what a great place America is, all while they're doing it.

If true, that is utterly revolting. I'm even more disgusted by Trump than I was before.

I think Mitt Romney is actually a half-decent bloke. Pity more Republicans aren't like him and prepared to stand up to Trump (which he totally deserves).

Sideface:

In an extraordinary news conference Thursday at the Republican National Committee headquarters, Trump’s attorneys claimed without evidence there was a centralized conspiracy with roots in Venezuela to rig the U.S. presidential election.

Wait, I thought the conspiracy was run from a Washington pizza parlour. Or was it the Ukraine? Or the Clintons? Or vaccines? Climate change? Obamagate? Dammit, I need a spreadsheet just to keep track of them.
