Curious as to why students in particular benefit from more health spending. Are you referring to medical students in particular?

If things are so gloomy why was so much spending done in the first 3 months of their term outside of budget. The 4 billion given to Jones to spend among his friends seems almost criminal with the books as gloomy as Adern is predicting.

Actually, in %GDP terms, I believe that the Health funding dropped.

ie. The Health Budget grew in absolute terms. (And in "adjusted for inflation" and "population growth" terms) ...but the Economy as a whole grew at a faster rate.

Regional development is very important and so often neglected. Developing the regions will take pressure off the urban centres.

Firstly, look at the bolded statement above, rather than the PM herself.

Beyond that, it's not the kind of thing that you're likely to find on Google anyway... Some of it may be subject to name suppression, and some of it may be pure fabrication, so I'm not going perpetuate any of that here. But, again, despite my opinion of Ardern's suitability for her role and her performance to date - I hope that none of it is true.

If you use false claims to make a good argument, you will lose when the falsehood is revealed. (irrespective of whether your overall point was correct)

It doesn't matter how much JA says the spending at the start of their tenure wasn't the reason for the poor budget, the facts are that :

1) If you haven't been in power for a long time and don't have a complete grasp of the books you take a cautious approach to spending

1a) You don't over promise and under deliver as it makes you look vulnerable and not well structured to lead the country.

2) You don't spend money you aren't sure if you don't have it.

The better approach would have been to look at the situation when you come in and THEN hand out lollies.

Labour has once again, proven themselves unfit to lead.

The thing is, I think we all agree that health care is important, that it has been underfunded, and that it needs more money. The arguments always seem to come back to a tit for tat they did this or they didn't do that. I am very disappointed that Jacinda Ardern seems to be resorting to the old ploy of claiming to have inherited a bigger mess than expected from the previous government, so it is all somebody else's fault. This is just more of the same old same old, another politician behaving like a politician. I applauded the formation of this government because I was hoping for something new and fresh and different. I continue to do so. There is still time.

My grandfather always taught me this: Start how you intend to continue.

I am sorry to say, but you will be disappointed in this Government, they have shown what they are capable of. It would take some massive turnaround for them now. It would take some pretty amazing Leadership, and I have yet to see JA show ANY.
